Reliable and Warm Workhouse

I bought one at a pawn shop, and since have loved this little amp! It honestly works great for bass, obviously, but also gives a warm tone to my guitars. While I couldn't afford a better amplifier, this allowed me to play, practice, and do live shows with friends while having a strong Lead guitar tone. Because it's so inexpensive to replace the amp or any parts, I never worried about ruining the speaker or anything else in the amp with a Guitar vs a Bass. It's definitely worth the money, as years of running the Mk1 and haven't had a single reliability issue. I am running 6 years on 1 amplifier now.

Cheapest Option - Don't Expect Much

I bought one three years ago - almost to the day. Died on me only a little past my warranty. Acoustic CS didn't want to hear about it and their reps know nothing about what's inside the cabinet. I opened mine up to see if I could find/fix the issue myself. This is a very cheap amp. If you buy it with the expectation that it will be for practice and only last a few years with modest, in home use and you don't take it around on gigs, you'll be somewhat satisfied. If your expectations go beyond that, you will be disappointed. View this amp as a disposable item. I love my GC store and staff - no reflection on them. But know the truth and have realistic expectations.

I've owned this amp about 5 years and many bass players use it in my studio. Almost all appreciate not having to bring their own gear but more importantly, everyone likes the sound. Bass is clean and punchy and the amp can keep up with the volume levels of our rehearsals. The amp has no cabinet rattles and has functioned for years without fault.

  • I would never buy this product

Great Amp but for the price it should of been American made. Just buy a hot rod deville 60 watts it would of been cheaper.

  • At 100 watts it has more than enough power for practice, gigs

The owners manual states it has a piezo tweeter but it does not. I haven't had a chance to use it much at this time but it appears to be very well built.

  • I would buy again

I will be honest here, this is the first bass amp I have owned. I have some regular guitar amps and only have that as a reference. That being said, this little amp really rumbles the house. Loud, clear, and easily tuned to be soft, slappy or jazzy. I am heading towards a couple of small gigs, and I dont think this will have any problem carrying its own. I like that I can pipe music through its aux input. To play along. No static picked up at all. very smooth, which is absolutely what I was going for. The price on sale was real nice too at $200. GC's sales hit me again.... Thanks. Of course, now looking at yet another bass so, Black Friday ad, here I come.
