Outstanding Nomad Drum Cases

These drum cases are awesome. Everything fits in them just fine. Easy to use and handle as well. I highly recommend them.

Consider your options...

I bought these a while ago, and didn't realize what fiberboard was. Still not sure, but all I know is that it isn't meant to last. The cases are very thin, and they collapse over a short amount of time. After about a year all my cases were damaged, solely because the cases were of poor quality, as I treat all of my equipment with a lot of care. The handles even fell off of 2 of them. Seriously consider...do you want to save money and have your cases fall apart within months, or buy something that will last a life time?

  • These are not cases for a working drummer - HOWEVER........

These cases on their own are not for any sort of working drummer. In fact, the larger cases flex enough between the drum lugs that they can actually damage the finish - especially a laquer - due to rubbing. That being said, they are a perfect in between case when you need more than bags, but not at the level of an ATA or injected molded case. Here is where these cases SHINE: 1. Order them all 1" larger than your actual shell size 2. Put your drum in a *good* padded soft case 3. Put the soft case inside the fiber nomad. This results in a combination of all the padding protection of a good bag, with an increase in impact protection of the fiber case. Works fantastic for regional tours where you are in a van/trailer/box truck, but are still moving your own gear. This also gives you something you can stencil when playing mutiple band shows/out door festivals to keep your gear from being mistakenly loaded into another bands rig.

  • The cases work just fine, but one case is to small.

I just bought these cases and I am very happy with them. I had similar cases years ago for my Rogers drums and they worked great and kept the set looking good. These appear to be the same or better quality so they will no doubt do fine. They would probably not be suitable for shipping drums by air freight etc., however I am a weekend player and they are just what I need to keep the set looking good while carrying it in and out of local clubs.
