Because of the way these strings are constructed, you will need to readjust the setup on your Floyd Rose tremolo system. They are the same as a heavier gauge set of strings and will pull the tremolo bridge way up, necessitating a setup readjustment. I wasted a whole set because I didn't want to change my setup...

Decent strings. Stayed in tune, didn't break on crazy bends... Only thing I didn't like was the tone. Just didn't feel right to me.

Warning, if your guitar nut is not cut for the larger diameter, particularly of the low E string, damage may occur. Granted, the guitar I put these on had a plastic nut, but platic nuts are now common. It was a name brand guitar, major manufacturer we've all heard of. Dunlop generally makes excellent products, and I'm sure these strings are great when installed on a properly adjusted guitar. If you get them, please check to make sure all strings fit inside the nut and will move without binding. Don't make the same mistake I did and assume it would work.

  • As promised.

These strings do pretty much what they say on the box. They keep string tension at a lower pitch, similar to the way heavier strings would. I like Dunlop strings to began with and these are even better if you want to tune down from standard. With these strings you do not need enormous .11 or .12 gauge strings to tune way down. You won't have to mess with your guitar nut to fit in the strings, and bla bla bla. The "heavy" 10-48 are PERFECT for me playing in drop C. They feel like 10-46 gauge strings tuned into standard. I have not seen too many other brands that do this custom size. Just sliiightly thicker than regular .10s. As far as sound goes, I really don't hear any sonic differences between these and standard Dunlop .10s.
