Good Case for the Cost
My previous case (soft) was falling apart. As a beginner, I didn't want to fork over lots of cash for a case. This one works well. My cello seems nice and secure in the case. The line up for the buckles can be tricky, but it is easy to learn which ones to buckle first. The only big down fall is that the case if heavy which really works out my shoulder and arm.

Horrible case!
This case is poor quality in every way. It is impossible to close nicely while standing upright because it is such a flimsy deisgn you can't get the hinges to line up naturally. It also doesn't seal shut, meaning it could allow moisture in damaging the cello.

1. Yes it has shoulder straps as well as the hardware built onto the case to attach the straps to. 2. Yes it has two hard plastic wheels and can be pulled behind like a suitecase. 3. Yes it has a built in handle on the underside near the neck that flips out when pulling via the wheels. There are also two side handles that you can see in the stock photos. 4. There interior is a velvet fabric with supports for holding two bows and a velcro strap around the neck if needed. There are a variety of cases out there. This one is the least expensive hard case. It is not top of the line, it isn't terribly fancy. A 4/4 Cello fits snugly. The construction is ABS plastic (same stuff as the black sewer lines in your house.) It's moderately rigid but insufficient to put in the cargo hold of an aircraft. It has an aluminum trim piece around the mating edges to add to the strength and support the clasps. (of which there are a ton) There are fabric supports for holding the case open a little past 90°. It is not gas tight. It is not water tight. I had it delivered to the showroom in the event that there was transportation damage. These are shipped to the store via UPS just like if it was going to your house. The boxing and packaging protection was excellent.

This is the second time purchasing this case for my son. He went from a grade school that had a strings program and everyone was taught to be careful around fragile instruments, to a middle/high school where that is not the case and now rides the school bus. We got the first case for his 3/4 cello and it has been perfect for protecting against the 1000+ students in the hallways and end of day bus line. The wheels and multiple handles make it easy to maneuver. It's been knocked over and hit the ground a few times with zero damage to the instrument. Now we are moving up to 4/4 size cello. We tried a significantly lighter case that seemed pretty good but was way too easy to knock over. This case will give us the same confidence as before and is substantially less expensive than fiberglass cases that weigh the same. This case is cargo/flight worthy. Given how fragile classical instruments can be, that is huge. I've found this exact case, branded differently on other websites, for 2x the price. Buy this case from Guitar Center!

Does this cello case have hardware attached for using cello backpack straps with it? There is no picture of the back of the case so I can't see if there's any hardware or if it's just plain.

What are the exact exterior dimensions of this 4/4 cello case? Trying to figure out if it will fit in out trunk. Thanks for the help.
I’m very sorry. Your question is not clear. Please call us at 855-770-3373 This is for a 1/2. size. A 4/4 case is about : 142cm x 53cm x 35cm (56" x 21" x 14"). I'd add a few inches.submitted3 years ago
