dbx DriveRack PA Processor
Description
The DriveRack PA provides state-of-the-art signal processing, while using a simple and intuitive user interface. This goal has been achieved by offering 2 independent channels of processing power with a linkable 28-band graphic equalizer, industry-standard dbx stereo compressor module, feedback eliminator and the 120A subharmonic synthesizer on the input, with a 6-channel output system that includes parametric EQs, and Peak Plus limiters (which are used to provide protection against speaker blowouts) and alignment delay. These features combined with the Wizard setup system represent a methodical design that is guaranteed to deliver optimal all-inclusive processing in a completely scalable system.

Money well spent

I recently purchased the dbx DriveRack PA and let me tell you, it is well worth the money spent on it. I'm a mobile VJ with a pretty nice setup including a set of Peavey PR15 (powered PA speakers) and a single JBL MRX518S sub powered by a Crown XLS602 amp in bridged mode. Needless to say before the dbx DriveRack PA, I was beating my Peavey's to death. With the DriveRack PA, my system now has a good clean and clear sound.

So much better than having a seperate crossover and compressor. Everything is fully adjustable to get the sound you want. I use this dbx with three crown xls amps and the setup is simple and easy to configure.

The DriveRack PA makes it easy to set up a PA system. I don't know how I did it before. With the RTA mic (sold seperatly), you can get the perfect, flat response EQ adjustment for that specific room,a nd it does it for you in seconds. The AFS (anti feedback system) allows you to have more gain on the system before feedback, and the notch is so tight that the only thing you notice about the AFS is the lack of feedback. Speaker, Power Amp wizards make setting up a new system quick. In short, the DriveRack pulls the maximum potential out of your current PA system. Features I would have liked to see would be some sort of computer link port to add in newer speaker combinations, and possibly a GUI control. I don't care much for the power switch on the front panel either. However, the biggest problem with this unit, is now everyone wants me to do sound for them. Is that the only reason I get invited to parties?
A great tool for a church sound system

I purchased this item for my church and it has been a very useful tool for our sound team. The unit enables us to effectively manage the speaker system in order to gain maximum performance potential. The system is designed to be very user friendly making this a very effective PA tool. The compressor is very usable and the feedback eliminator is excellent. The EQ could be better but it does get the job done. Overall I think this unit is worth the cost, but it could use a better instruction manual.
The next member of your band

The Driverack PA is your band's soundman. When used with the RTA mic, this rack unit will optimize your live sound everywhere you play. In addition to numerous capabilities that would fill 10 rack spaces, and presets with many common PA systems, just hook up your Driverack, plug in the RTA mic, and let the Driverack optimize itself for the venue you are playing in. I use this device when doing sound for my band, other bands, or for sound systems in clubs and bars, and the sound the Driverack delivers tops most sound people at a great price and no frustration. If you do live sound, the Driverack PA is an easy way to get great sound.
DBX Driverack PA

For truly professional control of your loudspeakers at an affordable price, the DBX Driverack PA cannot be beat. The easy to read screen helps users dial in the perfect crossover settings. I use the driverack in a tri-amped setup consisting of JBL SRX728 subs, peavey subs, and peavey 3020ht upper cabinets. I can now get the most out of my Peavey?s, and easily dial in the perfect settings for the JBL?s via JBL?s website (they have Driverack PA settings for their speakers)! The individual EQ on each crossover output really helps, and the graphic EQ coupled with DBX?s RTA mic is great. It sets the EQing itself! I wish the system would have cost a little less, but now-a-days nothing does. Overall, this is a great product from DBX.
