Yamaha

Description

The Yamaha MSR400 Powered Speaker is a biamplified, 2-way system featuring 400W maximum burst power driving a 12" cone woofer and 1-3/4" voice coil compression driver. Frequency division is accomplished prior to the amplifiers via a line-level electronic crossover, eliminating problems with loss, distortion, and phase. Power is optimally assigned to the low- and high-frequency units for smooth, natural balance across the spectrum. The Yamaha speaker accepts nominal input levels from -36dB to +4dB, meaning you can connect any source from microphones to pro line-level gear directly. Three parallel connections are provided--2 XLR-type connectors and one balanced phone jack--which can be used either as inputs or parallel outputs.

The Yamaha MSR400 speaker cab has input level control for matching with the source signal, low and high EQ controls, and a sleek appearance round out the great features of this speaker cab. Stackable, flyable, and polemountable.

Don't forget the bottom end. The MSR800W powered subwoofer (sold separately) is the perfect companion to this active PA speaker.

Ive had this speaker for over a year now, and it has not disappointed yet. Has crisp clean highs that cut through any mix, and can produce thundery (not sure if thats a word!) bass when needed! I use it as a floor wedge when Im gigging with a 5-piece band, it's the PA during band rehearsal, and I use it as a stand-alone keyboard amp when I practice alone. It is easy to carry; the handles are well placed and the weight is nicely distributed. The input/output options on the back have saved my live. There are (2) 1/4" jacks, a XLR female and a XLR male; all of which are wired parallel. Only downside to the MSR 400....the composite speaker cabinet is an easy "roller" when transporting it. It must be strapped down when driving or else it will roll all over your car, smash into things, and damage the plastic speaker casing. I have a few chunks of plastic missing as a result of this very thing. User error? yes. But Id like to see a more durable plastic in the future

Depending on your venue these things are great! For small to medium sized places these will do the trick and you cant beat the price. one of the best features are the individual hi and low eq's on the back, better than having a hi frequency crossover in my opinion. And to top it off their lightweight, you can carry both at the same time.

This cab is not as good as the best. However, if you only want to spend 500 bucks instead of thousands, then this cab is worth it. I have only used it once so far, but it seemed crisp and clear and I can't wait to jam on it again. We play metal and my clean vocals and screams cut through the mix. Like I said, it's not the best in the world but worth the price.

Have used 2 of thes for live gigs for the past few years. Can turn up the volume and not distortion at all. EQ is warm, not tinty like other cabs. Dependable, would recommend to all
