NEW REVIEW - Mmmm, it may be love...

So I decided to get back in to the guitar-playing scene after 20 years away, but just for a hobby. In my sordid youth I played only Martin and Guild. So, I wanted something nice: decent action, tone, overall quality. I pained for months, literally, over what to buy. These days I could afford dang near any guitar I truly wanted, but I've also got a very conservative streak that leaves me feeling guilty when I spend too much $$$ on something unnecessary. I've been to Guitar Center like 15 times in the last 3 months playing about everything they carry in the acoustic room. I was going to get the 114ce, but I wanted a hardshell case which was going to be a $150 addon. But last weekend the 15% off coupon allowed me to buy the 214 which comes with the case for about the same price overall. The 214 has nice action, decent tone, and an overall feel of quality. Granted, the 114 is similar. The 314 has a slightly richer tone in the mid-range, but for another $500 (doesn't matter much if you run amped and have eq).

NEW REVIEW - Love My New Taylor

I am very pleased with my new Taylor 214ce. It is really easy to play and has a great tone. I feel like the guitar really projects the sound in comparison with others in the same price range. I played a lot of instruments while shopping around and the Taylor 214ce had a better quality sound than anything else I played. I would reccomend this guitar.

NEW REVIEW - Price vs. Quality

As a previous owner of the Taylor 314ce, I was reluctant to "settle" for a 200 series guitar, but it hit the right price point. Negatives: finish is a little lighter duty both on the top and the neck backing. The pickup has less adjustments on the interior switches. Positives: plays like a Taylor, sound great, neck finish does not impact playability, and the action is set very well. Overall, I feel like this is THE $999 guitar out there. Completely satisfied with price vs. quality. Great Deal!

Take Time to Try A Taylor!

Just bought a Taylor 214ce today in Cincy. Tried several other guitars but wasn't quite impressed until the sales mgr, suggested this guitar. What an amazing balanced sound! I am pleased with every aspect of this guitar. The construction is impeccable and very light. I had been a big Ovation fan for over 30 years, but now I have converted completely. Hey, take a serious look at this guitar that won't break the bank. It will play many styles of music and give you that "fill the room" sound we all like. Tried recording some tonight. Oh my! very clean and no need for extra eq or effects: It's already perfect! Thanks for the best acoustic/electric I've owned. You guys are tops!

Awesome Deal!

Just got this as a Christmas present and let me just say i'm blown away. Taylor has created a wonderful acoustic electric that wont break the bank. I spent a lot of time looking at taylors before i settled on this one. i chose it because of the price but i am very satisfied. if you're buying a taylor chances are you're looking for that unmistakably taylor sound. this guitar is a great representation of that. the important thing to remember when looking at this guitar is that it does not have the full expression system which is sad but contributes to the price. if it fits your budget i would def. recommend this guitar but if you have the money it would be worth going with the 314 or higher because they have the full expression system and solid wood all the way around instead of laminate sides and back like the 214.
