Simple to use with top-notch delay effects.

The TC Electronic Flashback Delay Guitar Effects Pedal features 6 seconds delay time of every delay type you could ever wish for, from TC Electronic's legendary 2290 to a slapback, with 10 different types to choose from and it also doubles as a looper.

Besides all that, the Flashback delay comes with TonePrint, so you can easily ToneTransfer your favorite delay settings. The Flashback delay also features TC Electronic's audio tapping technology, allowing you to set delay times by strumming your guitar, and a toggle switch allows you to switch between 16th notes or dotted 8s, for a more U2-like sound.

The Flashback features a spillover on/off switch as well as Delay Time, Feedback and Repeat controls, so you are always sure you get the sound you want without any hassle. Rounding out the pedals features are a small footprint, easy access battery hatch, true bypass, an analog-dry-through and the highest grade components.

I bought this pedal about two weeks ago, it was recommended to me by my best friend who works at my local guitar center. I jammed on it in the store and thought is was sick, but since i took it home and put it on my pedal board it has now become my favorite pedal. I have owned two other delay pedals but this one is the father of gods compared to the others. There is no comparison, i can get so many different delay effects that im set for life, if you are thinking of buying this pedal just do it you will not regret it, best pedal i have ever owned and i dont think thats changing!!!! I LOVE THIS PEDAL!!!!

  • Don't buy it for the looper!

If you just want a delay, the flashback is awesome for the size. Has just enough features to keep you happy and a wide range of sounds. It does not suck your tone (which the Jam Man I bought does, so it's sad that this looper is essentially useless). I notice zero change in my tone with the Flashback enabled. It's transparent and the delay sounds warm and equal to my normal tone except on the settings where the tone is supposed to change. CONS: Almost Useless Looper: there is no way to adjust the loop volume relative to your straight-through volume. Both are controlled by the "FX Level" control and that control does NOT work as a blend. The Delay and "Feedback" controls do nothing in loop mode. The "FX Level" control doesn't touch the live volume in any other mode -- it only adjusts the volume of the FX. If the loop mode worked like that, it would be perfect. The FAQ on TC Electronic website has some lame answer as to why they did it this way. They are wrong. The only way it can be useful is if you record you loop with the guitar volume turned way down, then crank the guitar volume up to play over the loop. But we all know that greatly limits your choice of tones for both the loop progression and the play-trough sound. Also note that since the FX Level adjusts the straight-through volume, there is straight through volume change (up or down) when you switch to loop mode; unless you had the delay volume matched with the straight-through volume, which is very rare for me. This just adds a frustrating thing to have to manage in a live situation. The other problem with the looper is that it doesn't retain the loop when you stop it. 2 switch clicks deletes and stops it. If the FX Level only adjusted the looper volume, at least you could turn it's volume all the way down and come back to the loop later.

  • Can't ask for more . . .

at this pricepoint. For a versatile delay unit that does all of the basic types of delay very well and sounds excellent doing it, there is no better option. There are other units out there that specialize in certain types of delay and there are extremely deep and tweakable (and expensive) multi delay units, but for solid, basic sounds with only the necessary tweakability, the Flashback is a steal. All of the modes sound good so I would recommend this as a great first delay unit for someone who is exploring delay sounds. With this unit one can decide whether they prefer a modulated sound, a tape sound, a slapback, a purely digital delay and more. You get a little of everything with this pedal and everything sounds good! Personally, what make this a keeper for me is the ability to alter the delay time without making that unpleasant time-warp sound when the rate gets slower of faster. It's silent and adds a great dimension to the fading/sustaining repeats. Also, the EP3 toneprint makes this unit even more versatile, adding the ability to self-oscillate the repeats in a great sounding mode. Again, one cannot do better for a delay at this pricepoint.
