Slate Digital Slate Digital SSD4EX Virtual Instrument

I was originally going for another drum program (EZdrummer) when I bought this, and I had only heard a few demos of it on YouTube and the official website. So I was going into it rather blindly, and I'm glad I did so. The raw drums don't sound the best, but when you begin to toy with them and work on layering sounds, there are endless possibilities. And this isn't even the full version! The cymbals are much better than I expected them to be as well. I'm not sure if other products like Superior are better, but from the sound I'm getting from just this program alone, I don't want to try anything else. I eventually plan on (and would recommend) upgrading to the Platinum version in the near future. Go buy it, you won't regret it.

I've been using the SSD4 for like 6 months now and it really sounds awesome! Very user friendly, you can combine different sound, for example, you can combine 2 snares or 2 kicks or whatever! It's also very realistic, it just doesn't sounds like midi! I have DFH too and the SDD4 it's way better! Trust me, it's just awesome!

I bought this since I have Slate Platinum 3.5. I also own Toontrack, BFD, Strike and Addictive Drums. But the new SSD instrument is the most user friendly drum instrument I have ever owned. I also have an Alesis DM10 Electronic drum set. With the new mapping feature, I was able to automatically map my electronic drum kit to the SSD4 instrument literally at the click of a button. NO adjustments necessary!!! The samples are great and the fact that it has 16 outputs, (8 stereo and 8 mono) makes it easy to tweak in my DAW. My only regret is not buying the SSD4 Platinum version. Hopefully, I can upgrade at some point because this kit is great and you can even import midi grooves from your other drum libraries and it will play them correctly as long as you use the correct mapping template that is already provided by SSD.
