  • A Short Scale Gem

As reviewed by Ron on 7/3/2009

I called the local guitar center to see if they had the red squier bronco bass in stock. I was surprised to find out this bass was special order only. I wasn't happy about the bass being shipped to my home, but I'm glad I did. The Squier Bronco bass was pulled out of the box, plugged in, tuned up and was found to play perfect. The only thing I found wrong was one pick guard screw was put in crooked, this is a easy fix. This is the second Squier bass I've purchased and I tell you, they make a find bass. Now! if someone would make a gig bag just for the Bronco bass that would be icing on the cake.

Not the best bass out there, but great for beginners. The compact size lets new players easily pick it up, and also opens up the instrument for others unable to play a full-size bass. My brother has tiny hands and arms, so this bass was a perfect Christmas gift for him. He won't put it down actually. And for the price, it is a great sounding bass guitar.

  • Great starter bass

As reviewed by Steeeve on 1/3/2008

I've played guitar for a little over 3 years now, but I had always wanted to try other instruments when I got some spare cash. I finally had a little saved up, and went for this bass after playing it in the store. It's an amazing value. Being a guitar player with smallish hands, I love the short scale. I picked it up and started ripping away with barely any learning curve. I didnt feel particularly comfortable with a full scale bass. The guitar itself is great for beginners. It has a thin, fast neck and will give you a decent sound (it sounds much better with a pick than with your fingers). I highly recommend this instrument to any guitar players looking to make the transition to bass. The short scale is great for kids and players like me with smaller hands.
