Don't let the brand fool you, it's s good kit.
The first thing is the price. For under $300, you get a decent shell kit. It isn't *perfect* but for the price I paid, I wasn't expecting a DW quality. The kit has a good look to it, and produces a decent sound. One thing I did was replace the bass drum stock batter head with the 18" Evans EMAD bass drum head. I also replaced the resonant (bottom) heads on both toms with Remo Ambassador clear heads. Both these changes made a HUGE difference! (The snare heads and tom batter heads are fine -- no need to replace). With the minor adjustments I made, this kit now sounds just as good as a Gretsch Catalina kit that I'm used to playing... And for a fraction of the cost! In my opinion, this is worth the purchase if you're on a tight budget. I would love a Gretsch or DW, but for the price, this kit is a great deal. I'm glad to have made this purchase.

this was mostly what i was looking for
it's a practice set and does that job well enough. it's compact and the toms and bass sound good enough; all the parts were there and went together well (syl glyde helps). two criticisms, though: 1. the snare drum is terrible. i didn't plan on using it as i have others anyway, but the snare throw doesn't work (the snares don't descend enough). why bother even including it if it's not designed to fully function?! i can't even give it away in good faith to a student! and 2. the legs on the floor tom are too short -- i'm not a large person and i set up my drums low... but the legs are at their full height (and more, actually... they wobble) to accommodate even me. another inch or two even would make them more functional.

Good kit at a good price

I bought this after using an electronic kit and decided I wanted to learn drums and figured I needed an acoustic kit. So I got this on sale, which made it even more of a deal. The 18" bass drum is great and the kit looks really good. I played it for a while and struggled to get a good tuning from the snare. I was able to get the 18" bass drum to sound fantastic though. After playing for a while I figured this was something I was going to stick with and I moved up to a Gretsch Renown kit. I have to say I love the Renowns maple shells and after playing them the sound of the Birch SPLs no longer appealed to me. I ended up selling the SPL kit. I still wanted a smaller 1 up 1 down kit and went for the Sonor AQ2 Safari kit which is maple ply and sounds like my Renown kit, but with smaller drum sizes. In this price range I don't think you can do better than this SPL kit, especially if you catch this kit on sale. You get an 18" bass drum instead of 16" that the others have. Like any drum kit you have to check the edges and the shells and rings to make sure they are right (true, even, level). Don't accept damaged or bad quality stuff, keep going until you find one that is good and you should be satisfied for a long time.
I would buy it !

this kit is perfect for small space area, the sound is great for a small set. I have 7 cymbal stands surrounding this kit. I highly recommend it for the price too.

I ordered this kit on May 4th 2020, it didn't arrive until May 20th. It was cracked in several places and what was left of the hardware was just laying in the bottom of the box. The kit is not shipped from the warehouse, it is shipped from individual guitar centers who only have them as returns or open boxed items. IT IS NOT NEW! If you don't believe me call the 800 number or your local store and try to order one. I was really looking forward to getting this kit, now I'm really disappointed with Guitar Center.
Nice little kit, good sound.

Conversion kit from A2E project. Since I haven't received a lot of the products I've ordered so it's just a waiting game. This kit really does need a riser because it hits above center and that's not shipping till Mid-May!!! I will convert this back to acoustic with quality heads when I have the space and proper sound proofing. People really downplayed the snare as being useless but I was surprised at how well it sounded!!
Actually a pretty great set

Amazing sounding kit only downside is the resonant heads are awful i thought those would be remo too but instead theyre those fake white plasticy ones. Tuning wasnt the best due to the resonant heads but other than thay its a great set. Its portable and makes quite the sound!

Is the 25% promotion available also with in store purchases? And also I would like to know if there's this drum set in stock here in Pasadena? Thanks!
