The SP 4-Piece Drum Set with Cymbals has features that you would typically find on a drum kit costing twice the price. Ready-to-gig out of the box and on to the stage. Shell sizes include 20" x 16" bass drum, 12" x 9" tom tom, 14" x 12" floor tom, and 5" x 13" snare drum.
Stands are double-braced with triple-chrome plating for greater stability and superior finish. Upgraded die-cast claw hooks and tension casings help ensure proper tuning and durability. The bass drum pedal uses a pro-style chain drive that provides solid, powerful, consistent feel and response.

I bought this for my 11-year old's birthday present after getting one for the church praise band.
This set is perfect for any serious beginner or even as a rehearsal/garage set for the budget-conscious pro looking to add an extra kit without breaking the bank.
The Stagg cymbals were much better than I anticipated.
All the drums were easy to set up and tune, and the hardware is sturdy enough to support everything correctly.
I'll probably upgrade the kick pedal and high hat stand as he grows into the instrument over the next year, but they both work well with smooth action, no excessive movement or rattles.
This set is my recording/ travling set for my band. We play classic rock styles and this suits our drum needs perfectly. When I first sat down to play it, I didn't know what to expect. In the end, its a great set for a great price! It's set up like Ringo Star's kit from the 60's and feels like a classic kit. I've been playing for eight years and I love it! I recommend it for not only for starters, but for people looking traveling kits. The stands are a bit questionable though...
I play bass and guitar, but have wanted to get a drumset for awhile now. I decided on this one after searching around for a good number of weeks. It is a great set for a beginner to learn on. The heads definitely need to be replaced, but sound pretty decent for stock heads. The cymbals are solid. Only complaint I have would have would be the hardware, the pedals sometimes stick, which can be annoying, and the clutch on the high hat stand sometimes comes loose. Overall, it's a good value for a full set. Good to let a beginner beat up on before replacing the heads and upgrading the hardware as they get more comfortable with it.
