  • This Shure SM58a Beta beats the original SM58 and the Sennheiser e845 Pro- by a long shot!!

As reviewed by Josh Alexander on 2/9/2009

I work at a church in Garland, TX as a sound engineer. Out of all of the Mic's we currently own I would have to say this is the absolutely the best non-condenser Mic money can buy!! The only Mic I would prefer more than this one would be the Shure SM81 Condenser Mic, only because it is the perfect condenser Mic I've ever worked with. If you?re on a budget and you?re trying to choose between this and the SM58.... BUY THIS! You won't be disappointed. Out of all of the Mic's our church owns this is my preferred Mic of choice when Mic'ing the lead vocalist. We have 5 of these Mic's in our church currently for about 3 years now- and so far I've experienced no problems with this: it's a quality product built for long term use and durability.

  • Shute Beta 58 replacing AKG D3800

As reviewed by Mike on 7/12/2010

Replaced much more expensive AKG D3800 mikes with an improvement in subtle dynamics and tonality, and they seem to be more responsive to small vocal inflections for our small contemporary Christian music group.

  • Wow!

As reviewed by Matt on 6/12/2008

Ok so this mic is pretty powerful. While no mic will make you sing better this one does provide excellent sound, everything is very crisp and clear. So far no feedback problems at all.
