Versatility

I bought this pickup as an upgrade for a Ibanez RG series guitar that had the stock Power Sound pickups in it. I did alot of research before making my decision. My guitar has a HSH configuration. I wanted to replace all of the pickups but couldn't afford to buy 3 at once so I wanted one that was pretty hot but still sounded reasonable clean too. On the Seymour Duncan Website you can listen to samples of the pickups and there is also a tone wizard that will help you pick the right pickup for your style of play. There are 4 leads on the pickup so you can split the coils if you want. The wiring diagram that came with the pickup was excellent. There is also tons of wiring diagrams on the Seymour duncan website for just about any configuration. I was really pleased with this pickup it has an awesome sound both clean and dirty. If you have any doubts about it being hot enough. Some of its players are George Lynch, Scott Ian and Dave Mustaine. This is an awersome pickup and I highly recommend it. I have it now paired with a SH-2 at the neck and wired with a 5 way megaswitch so I have the coils tapped in 3 of the positions. I can play virtually any type of music with this setup from metal to jazz, blues etc. I am a Seymour Duncan fan for life.

Outstanding brigde pickup

I just installed this pickup at the bridge of an Epiphone G-400 1966 reissue guitar. What a huge difference over the stock Alnico II classics that came with the guitar! This is probably one of the most responsive pickups I've found. I combined it with an SH-1 '59 at the neck position, and my guitar really came alive! WAY better than I expected. Both pickups through a VOX AD100VT amp, and we're talking on fire here! You can't beat the price either. By the way, installation is easy if you have some basic electronics tech tools (soldering iron, ohmmeter/volt meter) along with some basic tools found in a small toolbox. You will be making small adjustments over the course of a couple of days to get the sound you want though. Have fun!

excellent replacement

This was the first replacement humbucker I ever bought. I was making my own frankenstrat, and the guy at guitar center recommended this baby. The difference between a stock humbucker and this is obvious from the first note. Even my roommates who don't play noticed how much better the guitar sounded. I highly recommend this toi anyone looking for a replacement.

Great Humbucker!

I just put this pickup at the bridge position of a custom EVH style strat that I just built and I couldn't be happier. No doubt the most versitile humbucker. From soft blues to heavy rock, this guitar is unmatched and the price is great.

Great upgrade for any guitar

I placed this in my friend's B.C. Rich Bronze Warlock and it gave this 20+ year old guitar new vitality. It made harmonics effortless on this guitar and gave it a growl comparable to $500+ guitars. This is a great bridge replacement pickup for any guitar and any style of music. Also great when paired with the seymour duncan jazz neck pickup
