  • simply amazing

this is the best bass i have ever played. EVER!! i own the red version and its just stunning how beautiful the bass is. extremely versatile, i use it for everything from jazz, to metal, to praise team at my church. it works for everything!! i highly recommend putting strap-locks on it though, the strap button at the bridge area is in a weird spot so the strap slips off easily. and the stock strings are terrible, i use ernie ball regular slinky's and they improved the sound immensly. other than that its an amazing bass.

  • Excellent Bass for the price!

As reviewed by Eric Ness on 3/15/2012

Let me start off by saying that I don't play bass. When my wife decided the rest of the family was having too much fun playing guitar, she decided to take up the bass. I've been down the road with starter equipment, and didn't want to go too low-end, but didn't want to over-spend either. This bass perfectly fit that need. If you're looking for a quality instrument and you don't want to break the bank to get there, this is it. You will not be disappointed. The tone is rock/hard rock, though th EQ gives a wide range of control, especially when combined with a good amp. This covers from relatively clean to very crunchy, though rock tones are its sweet spot. I am very impressed with the quality of the workmanship and the finish on this instrument. The pickups are great, the controls are smooth and clear. This has the look and feel of an instrument that could cost twice the price. The neck is thin, the action is low, and straight out of the box comfortable without having to tweak any string buzz out of it. Thre balance is decent, though as another reviewer pointed out, you might want to invest in strap locks. We've not had an issue with this, but I can see what that reviewer meant with regard to the pin placement on the bridge end. Having built guitars, I take a close look at how what I buy is put together, and where the shortcuts may have been made with components. I can't find anything at all to complain about with this bass. It is a tremendous value for the price and far exceeds the beginner instruments I've looked at with regard to quality of workmanship and components.

  • First, Last, Only

As reviewed by MLindsay on 7/4/2011

I've played a few basses before, and this one by far is the best I've ever laid my hands on. I saw this at a Guitar Center in Virginia, and after playing it for 4 hours and asked if I wanted it, I said, "Absolutely!" On top of that, it was on sale. It cuts right through my Line 6 and screams down the halls. Wonderful bass for heavy stuff, and if you want to annoy your neighbors, then this is surely the bass for anyone. But if you want a timid sound with little satisfaction, buy a Fender. Schecter Guitar Research out did themselves with this affordable quality bass. I give it 11 stars.
