So my school actually owns a ton of these, and I own one for myself. I've had it for roughly 3 years now, and I gotta say, this thing is well made. It definitely stands a beating, and is really good for practicing on your own and allows you to put force in the pad that you normally wouldn't be able to into a snare (due to the sound). I haven't tried it, but it looks like it can be tuned, as well. Something also nice is it has a rim, and its well made, and the reason this is good is because most pads' rims are either non existent or or too tall for playing sitting. This pad is universal, can be used laying down, standing, or sitting. Only somewhat con is that the noise is definitely louder than most pads. Nothing too bad, but it still is louder than a mesh pad. Lastly, it's got a large head, so you can practice hitting without worrying about hitting the rim, or even worse, yourself. Overall, good pad, good price. TL;DR: Large head Nice rim Durable Long Lasting Somewhat Loud

This is the most realistic drum practice pad that I have ever used! Great rebound and versatile! Fits on any 14 inch snare drum or can be used on any flat surface. Great for practicing with brushes too!

I like this pad because it enables rim shots and clicks. The surface is less artificial than my Real Feel pad and the rebound is more realistic. The Quiet Tone supposedly is tunable for more or less rebound and response, but I haven't tried that yet. The pad fits perfectly on my snare, which is where I use my practice pad almost exclusively. It is roughly the same size and weight as my Real Feel so it's at least as portable. Overall it is worth the extra expense for me but may not be for everyone. I would recommend it.

Relatively new drummer and was using another pad that moved around when you struck it. Just got this pad and love it. By laying over the drum as it does, it allows me to work the rudiments from a true drumming position and the quiet response allows me to do so without driving my wife crazy. It also returns the stick with the same feel as the snare. Some other pads have too much bounce.

I am having great fun with this pad because it has a broad striking area. I can strike the head in multiple areas as if it is multiple heads to get left hand and right hand individual hits. This pad is a little expensive, but I expect to use it for years to come. It is great for MOELLER METHOD practice.

I have owned just about every practice pad avaiable and I would have to say this is the best. It's great placed on top of a snare drum for a real snare sound and feel at reduced volume or you can place on a coffee table and play it at even a quiter volume and still feel like a real snare drum. I haven't tried brush's on it yet, however I'm sure it will be ideal for brushwork as well.
