Good Piece of Kit

This kit is well engineered. The user interface is pretty easy to move through. The buttons you need are right there along the edges. Scroll wheel and +- buttons are great to have. Quick record is nice. So is the ability to mute the drum track from the included practice songs. The scope function has even been updated from that shown in the manual. It now shows more information about how off you are. Ego killer.

Best Value

I purchased it for recording, but I find the acoustic preset sounds to be sufficiently realistic for live use, if that were my intent. I initially wanted something better than my drum machine or octopad, but had no room or patience for tuning and micing real drums. I started with an off-brand set at 1/3 the price and looked to upgrade immediately because of the dropped notes and lack of rim trigger. I chose between this model and the V-Pro, and not because of price. The mesh pads make most of the difference. I could not appreciate the difference in sounds, or the mesh kick or separate hi hat of the V-Pro, and it was too big. So this set is "just right" in my view, and I am no longer looking to upgrade.

Just Excellent

I was always enchanted by the way electronic drum makers always pushed the envelope when it came to re-creating the live sound and feel of an acoustic drumset. Roland was always out there and even though I have tried many other brands out there, the technology implemented by Roland can be called Avant Garde. I purchased this kit not too long ago and I am in love. The dynamics are perfect and the the whole system is super easy to use. You can modify your sound to almost any way you want and it is perfect for recording and live gigs (I even did a metal gig!). If you are looking for great technology, user friendly handling and superb sound, then look no more. At this price you get a lot and need to look no more.

For the money...highly recommended!

This kit is very well made. I have played the TD-20 VDRUM and this is just as dynamic, expandable, and is easy to customize to your needs.
