I used to use the rode nt1 when I recorded my first record. I loved it. This mic blows the nt1 out of the water with the beautiful warm sound resenating through the tubes witch the nt1 never had. This mic is gonna make my new project shine like never before.
I love this mic, it has a kinda hot sound to it. you can hear the gently distortion from the tube. ive used it for percussion rap vocals, acoustic guitar and other stuff. i think its good for some vocalist but it might not be good for all. i wouldnt recommend it for loud, metal or most rap vocalist. it has a crunchy/scratchy sound that you expect from a tube mic, but its acuatlly kinda smooth with a detailed high end. great mic for alot of things. and it doesnt sound cheap or cheesy like most affordable condenser mics. get one, or better yet get two.
