Yes, I, too, was tempted to purchase the Fender stool since I have so much product from Fender. But these aren't made in Fullerton; think further west. If you look at all the photos of all the standard one ring stools, you'll note they all have grey plastic caps on the legs. Same swivel, same padding, same size too. Coincidence? I think not! Due to the construction, they all wobble, they all have seats with a bar code that states that they are made in Vietnam. The Road Runner style uses GC as a prefix, the Fender has an F, and so on. So any flaws in the framework are random, not because you paid more or less for the product. This stool is only available from GC and their affiliates, and for the 31.99 plus tax I paid its a screaming good deal. So you can pay 90 bucks for the Fender or Gretsch or Zildjian label, or save some cheese and get the same stool with a B-A star on the seat. Only recommendation I'd make it to pick up 9 washers to put behind the nuts, and use your socket set for assembly; the wrench that comes with is shabby.

Does not assemble well and I assemble things frequently. Does not spin easily. Has a cheap plastic permanent Saran-wrap like cover over the red/white/blue star logo. The person who helped me misled me; I pointed to a solid black leather-seated stool in the Braintree store and he handed me something in flat box and said "All you do is stick the cushion on." Hardly. Two hours with a half dozen pieces and about 36 nuts and bolts. Directions were a pictorial only and impossible to read the bad quality of this one-sheet do-it-yourself technical writing instruction. If you're going spend $50, invest in a quality brand for the same money. I should have gone to Bed & Bath.

Super Guitar Stool!

By Pete

from Alexandria VA

Comments about Road Runner Star 24" Bar Stool:

If you need a guitar stool, buy this OUTSTANDING, HIGH QUALITY, THICKLY PADDED, STURDY, guitar stool! Easy to put together (really!), it beats out the majority (if not all!) of the "so-called brand named" stools. In addition, I was pleasantly surprised to learn, at the check-out register, that my new stool was on sale. You could do a lot worse - and you will if you don't go RoadRunner!

Great at a lower price

By jared couture

Comments about Road Runner Star 24" Bar Stool:

I read the reviews before I bought this stool and bought it anyway because I wasn't gonna pay double for a brand name logo that'll be covered with my you know what. Not sure what happened to these other people but it was really simple to put together. The nuts have neoprene inserts so they won't rattle loose. The stool is totally solid. I can see having problems getting everything tight if you use the tools that come in the box but who doesn't own some Allen keys and a wrench? The hardware is surprisingly good and doesn't strip with allot of pressure. I used a cordless impact wrench with a star bit ( didn't have the right size Allen bit and I was too lazy to grab one from the basement) and that didn't strip the hardware. That's some good hardware. The seat itself is the perfect hight for comfortable practice and the cushion is comfortable and sturdy for my 218 pounds. It doesn't turn very easy but easy enough. I think the covering on the seat will hold up fine because it's so pliable my jeans leave an imprint for like 5 min after I'm done. Not that hard cheap plastic. That's my 2 cents. Figured I would defend this stool because I really like it and I've had it for a while.

Great practice stool

Comments about Road Runner Star 24" Bar Stool:

I read through the reviews and was a little apprehensive about purchasing. But then I realized how inexpensive they are so I took a chance and I am glad I did. It was not difficult to assemble; I did use a real wrench and it made for a much easier experience. The stool itself is solid and feels like it will last. It rotates easily and has a comfortable cushion. I recommend this stool for home practice and studio use. Looks pretty cool too!

Lacking adequate cushion!!

By CHARLES

from Lafayette La.

Comments about Road Runner Star 24" Bar Stool:

This bar stool looks cool but lacks enough cushion! Do your back a favor and buy one like they have placed throughout the store. It has at least twice as much cushion!! 2 Stars only because it looks cool and the steel frame is durable!!

Comments about Road Runner Star 24" Bar Stool:

After looking at various brands of guitar stools I decided to try the Roadrunner stool because it was the least expensive of all the other brands(Gibson, Fender, etc.). I'm glad I did because it is a great stool and much cheaper than the name guitar brand stools. If you want to spend more money, buy the other brands.

Comments about Road Runner Star 24" Bar Stool:

It took a little time to put it together but it was very easy. If you have a monkey wrench assembly is very easy. Without it you willl have to use the little tool they provide you with the chair is too small to be used effectively. Once built the chair is very sturdy and comfortable enough to play guitar for a while on without noticing a sore rear end. The logo on the chair looks like Captain America, which is a plus for comic book fans.
