Not for offset waist Fender JBass
Don't get me wrong, this is a good case for the money - wood construction, nice interior, storage pocket, locks appear to be solid. I bought this to replace a Road Runner Poly-foam case that I've had for several years and was getting a bit road worn. I was VERY surprised to find that the J Bass did not fit. This was mentioned by another reviewer, and they are correct. The body section in the case is just too short for the J Bass to fit in the case comfortably, I was able to squeeze it in only if I wedged the upper horn into the partition, but this is not a desirable situation IMO. Fortunately (and to my surprise), the case did fit my 1978 Gibson RD Artist very well so I kept the case and I'm happy with it for that purpose. I gave it 4 stars because of the fit. Otherwise, it is a nice case. If you have a J Bass or similar body, you might want to check out another option.

Nice case but sloppy fit for Fender Precision bass
This is a decent case for the money. That said, I can't recommend this for use with a Fender Precision. The case is too large and allows the bass to slide around too much inside it. There's around 2 to 21/2 inches of space around body width wise and lengthwise. You can feel the bass moving around inside the case when you carry it. The worse is that the top doesn't have enough padding inside to keep the bass neck seated in the support cutout. The neck will pop out due to the excess space around the body. Not good. I should have checked the fit better before purchase. I ended up getting the "real" Fender case from GC online. I had it shipped to my local store and will return this one when I pick up the read deal case.

Bought this product to use with my G&L L-1000 and the fit is great. Neck doesn't slide down and bass fits very well. Case is not a G&G but it also isn't a third the money. Great case for the money.
I would NOT buy this again, nor recommend it.

There are cases with more bells and whistles a higher prices but in the end a case has one primary job, protect your instrument. This inexpensive bass case does just that. If you're looking for a no frills case to protect you bass then look no further.
I bought the last one, in store. Works great

I will be purchasing again for my second bass. As of Nov 2024, this case fits a left handed Fender Jazz Bass just fine. I leave the strap installed and that helps take up any little bit of space to keep the bass snug. While the case isn't bomb proof, it is definitely a big level up from my Fender gig bag. For the price I paid (Black Friday Door Buster price) I an happy with this case.
Worst place I ever went.

This is only one time. Ad bass case at guitar center in Columbia s.c. Drove all the way there. Yes we have two in stock. After looking for 10 or 15 minutes they say they don't have any. My last trip here. Going back to on line shopping. With a different company.
