A software/vinyl solution that works without glitches!
Check out the forums, you'll see that the Serato Scratch Live by Rane is way more reliable and easier to use than earlier digital/vinyl interfaces. Using regular turntables or CD players, you can scratch and mix files from your Mac or Windows XP computer's CD or hard drive, add in a live mic input for scratching, and even bypass to standard vinyl if you wish. The Rane Serato's unique control screen gives you unprecedented realtime side-by-side visual command with color-coded frequencies so you can distinguish bass and snare hits for flawless beat matching. You can even control song selection from the vinyl.
The Rane Scratch Live SL 1 interface connects one or two standard vinyl or CD turntables to your computer. This extremely rugged, portable, high quality, bus-powered USB interface features 2 switchable phono or line inputs, a microphone input, 2 line outputs, and pass thru outputs for the phono/line and mic.
The included 12" vinyl records each have a Serato exclusive control signal which allows Scratch Live to track the motion of the record, simulating the same movement with digital audio. Due to Serato's proprietary control scheme, the result is a feel and sound indistinguishable from playing vinyl. As a producer and DJ, the track you finished today can be played on a real turntable tonight. You'll never have to cut a dubplate again!

The NEW DJ Standard!
I've had Serato since it came out and I've stood by it 100%. Real DJ's no longer have to resort to buying CD Turntables because they're tired of carying massive crates spending large amounts on records. Serato gives you the best of both worlds! Scratch and manipulate just like a regular record and you can have your WHOLE music collection stored on your hard drive. No more picking through your record collection to see what records you should bring to your gig. Just bring your hard drive! It is a little expensive but if you're an established DJ Serato will be the best investment you'll make in years.

This thing will revolutionize mobil DJing!
This thing simplifies all the basic DJ work so much that it makes it infinitely easier to focus on being an effective DJ. No more looking through printed song lists or flipping through Promo Only CDs trying to find a song that you know you have *somewhere*. Just type the title or artist and Serato finds it for you. With the newest update, it'll even count the BPM of every track in your library. One of the previous updates also added key (master) lock. I had actually stopped bringing my turntables to gigs because I preferred the quality and simplicity of CDs, but this thing makes CDs look like a hassle. I couldn't type enough positive things about this program... obviously the best part is never having to carry a CD or record to a gig again, just rip it all to a laptop, bring a mixer and a PA system (and turntables if you want the control like I do), and you can do a gig without ever handling a CD or record. It's flat out great. For just over $500, you have ALL the features of the most expensive DJ CD players on the market.

The BEST vinyl emulator available.
My only gripe is that you spend $500 for the thing and it doesn't come with a power adapter. Also make sure you pull all of your music on an external hard drive and that your USB cables are not too long. Once you cover these 3 things, there shouldn't be any audible dropouts as long as your PC is fast enough to handle it. The sound is also great as long as your MP3s are encoded at a high enough bitrate. Other than the adapter not being included, it should have 2 more USB ports for the possibility of adding more hard drives.

From Chicago to New York to LA and back again.
How can make a great DJ better? Serrato! I've used it for over a month now and snap! What can you say...If your a money making DJ then this is a no brainer. If your a hobby spinner than this will bring you to the next level. If your just starting out? Stay ahead of the curve and spin with the big boys. The best industry tool in 15 years. Hands down-
