Description

Free upgrade to version 6.5 via download upon registration at manufacturer' website. Reason is an integrated software music recording and production studio that comes with all the instruments, effects and mixing tools you need for writing, recording, remixing and producing great-sounding tracks.

With its generous sound bank and intuitive flow, Reason helps you along in the creative process and is the music software that never gets in your way.

Should you need even more creative options, Rack Extensions expand Reason and let you add more instruments and effects, created by Propellerhead and others.

About Reason

Reason is an integrated software music recording and production studio with audio recording, million-dollar mixing, and a massive collection of instruments, sounds and effects included for writing, recording, remixing and producing great-sounding tracks.

At the heart of Reason is the virtual rack that builds itself as you create your song. Create instruments and effects and route them any way you want to. Add, delete, replace and tweak. Your rack is what you want it to be. Need more gear? No problem. Choose a synth, a drum machine, a loop player or any device from the Create menu and it will instantly appear in your rack, logically patched into the signal chain. And because Reason is designed to go easy on your computer, you can repeat the process until you're more than happy.

A single key press will turn Reason's rack around, and there you are, in patch cord heaven. Most audio connections are made automatically. When a new device is created, it appears immediately below the currently selected device, and Reason patches it into the system in the most logical way. Repatch by dragging the patch cord plug to the desired connector to build your own sounds ” or tweak the included presets.

Each unit in Reason's virtual rack is edited from its own on-screen front panel. All the sliders, knobs, buttons and functions are right in front of you, ready to be tweaked, turned and twisted in absolute real-time. And all your front panel actions ” filter adjustments, pitch bending, gain riding or panning ” can be recorded and automated in the Reason sequencer.

When you need even more creative options, Rack Extensions come to the rescue. The Rack Extension technology, new in this version of Reason, lets you expand your collection with the instruments and effects your music needs. Created by Propellerhead and other developers, Rack Extensions are full Reason rack citizens, giving you the same fully integrated experience as when using any of the included devices.

For guitar and bass players, Reason comes installed with separate guitar and bass POD units from amp and cab simulation experts Line 6. With bass and guitar amplifiers available for every single track in your project, you are never short of interesting tones and timbres. As the Line 6 amplifiers are insert effects and don't affect the original instrument signal, you are free to change your amplifier and cabinet settings at any point in time“even after laying down your track.

The powerful sequencer is where you will find yourself doing most of the work. While keeping Reason' famous ease of use, it still comes with all the editing features you need. An audio channel, sequencer device or instrument gets its own dedicated track, with separate lanes for audio, notes, performance and automation data, opting for a better overview and less clutter.

All sequencer data ” notes, automation, the works ” is housed in clips; musical building blocks that can be opened, sliced or moved. When a clip is moved to a new location, all its internal data follows right along with it, always ending up exactly where you intended it to. For safe, speedy sequencing. The Tool window is an ever present floating window that provides lightning fast access to those detailed editing functions you use all the time; quantize, transpose, note velocity, note length and legato. Always in sync with your flow, forever adapting to you and your working methods, Reason's sequencer simply gets you there faster.

With the now legendary non-destructive time stretch, you can actually record first and pick your tempo later. And thanks to audio transpose you can even record first and change the key later. Change the tempo of your song, and the audio follows right along. Non-destructively change the pitch with a mouse click.

The fully equipped mixing desk adds a big studio signal chain to all your sound sources. The Reason mixing console's sound and signal processing was faithfully modeled after* the legendary SSL 9000k analog mixing desk. Flexible routing, full dynamics, EQ, advanced effects handling, full automation and a 64-bit mix bus gives you that big studio sound right out of your computer. And yes, you do get that master-bus compression.

Finding your sound is an important part of the musical process. With Gigabytes of synths, samples, drum kits, and effects, Reason's sound bank is packed with everything you'll need from the start. Want more? Expand your palette with a world of ReFill libraries.

Reason' legendary flow lets you stay focused on the music and explore your options as you go along. With a completely integrated environment like Reason, you will face fewer dialog boxes, more inspiration and more music.

The work flow is amazing. If you make tracks in reason you have to get this. I was already impressed with Reason 5.0 but when i got this i just can't see doing too much outside of it. I'm currently working on my EP. It took me maybe 45 mins to an hour for an interlude. Thats with making the track and writing and recording. I love this!!!!

Reason 6 is one of the most advanced softwares in my opinion.. if your looking for a professional sound and an affordable price, look no further. I love the ability to Rewire, I use Rewire mode to run Reason into Ableton Live for loops and editing for live sets. Reason 6 will work for anything wether your in the studio or laying down some track at home or playing in front of 5000 people. The quality is amazing. The look and feel of Reason 6 is like having an actual instrument and effects rack that you are able to take where ever you go.. your able to turn your rack around and rewire every effect and instrument however you like. Lovin' it.

I've tried Reason demos a number of times since version 1 but never bothered purchasing a copy until I recently tried version 6 -- and wow --- I was blown away with what it has become. The new instruments and effects are amazing, the SSL-modeled mixer is fantastic, and the sequencer is beautifully implemented with MIDI (Blocks are awesome; other DAWs could learn a thing or two here) and audio that features built-in time stretch (just adjust the master tempo, and voila everything is matched with no audible distortion on audio tracks in +/- 5 to 40 BPM range) Additionally, it's rock solid in terms of stability and the sounds you can get out of it are amazing despite using virtually no CPU. Even though it's a closed environment it still manages to inspire in ways my bucket of VST instruments and effects just don't seem to do. Needless to say, I'm a Reason user for life now.

I first got introduced to Reason back in 2008. I was at a best buy electronics store in Chandler AZ. I bought this music production magazine and in it was a CD. I popped it in my Laptop computer and there were a lot of demo programs and give-a-ways inside. So I happen to stumble a pond the Reason demo. I sucked that it only let you use it for no more than 20 minutes but I played with it for a while and I was hooked. I was using FL studio (Which I downloaded for free thanks to Lime wire) had about 20GBs of VSTi and RTAS instruments and plug-ins. All of a sudden. My computer crashed and man that was the end of my music production career lol. That following month I bought a Apple computer (desktop). Then ran all the way to guitar center to get the latest version of Reason 4.1. I've used hardware (MPC 2000xl, Korg Triton Extreme, Yamaha Motif, and Roland Fantom) but never though that I could do the same thing I've done in the past with software. I was really amazed at the possibilities it had. I was a novice when it came to using Reason but I discovered that there was nothing to it. Reason 6 expanded my capabilities in music production especially with Dubstep and Electronic House music. I can create my own synths and its very easy to do (with the help of a few tutorials on YouTube and the Propellerhead website) I have a library full of my own sounds. It took me till Reason 6 to find out that I can do such thing. I love the sequencer and blocks which conveniently set up how you want to format your songs. Then there the rack. Neptune, Kong drum designer, recording samples, Dr Octo Rex, The Echo, Alligator, Pulverizer, and a whole bunch of new sounds convinced me that this program is the new wave of the future.

I've always been a fan of Reason but there were always a few things that needed to change. Reason 6 fixed all of those things. Now you can record audio straight into Reason. There is an awesome new mixer and the sampling feature is a huge time saver. The software is really easy to learn, especially if you are used to using audio hardware. Buy it!

I've used reason since 3.0 made it's debut and with 6.0 my dream studio is now realized.. Not only can you multi task with the different midi controllers that reason will automatically pick up, you have the best of recor and reason all in one along with a great onboard mixer for fine tweaking the finnished and/or work in progress... Great for live recording audio along side millions of programable presets combi patches line 6 amp mods... evrything is here. I've made 3 tracks already since I bought this a couple weeks ago and there's hits on youtube and facebook already... Everyone knows the mixdown is the most important and reason gives nothing less than professional standards... easy to use.. a must have for any hardened or up and coming producer or home recording artist.. Great for building backing tracks for live performances as well.. My list would never end and could get way too technical... JUST GET IT!!
