No Problems, Works Great!

Used for solid body and acoustic guitars in different combinations with no problems. Assembly was easy, all the holes matched up like they were suppose to.

I was so excited to get this last night and be able retire a couple old single-guitar stands. However, this 3-ax rack is poorly designed, badly manufactured, and not even big enough for acoustic guitars. The design looks OK, but the top support far enough "behind" the rack base that I have pull the whole thing out from the wall about a 12" so in order for my bass rests without touching the wall. The actual manufacturing is simply horrible as screw holes don't even line up. (I had to "bore out" 4 or 5 of them just to assemble it!) Lastly, it's not even big enough for standard depth acoustic guitars. I have a solid body bass and two acoustic 6-strings in the rack, and they "fan out" at the bottom due to lack of space. In all fairness it might work adequately for solid-body guitars, but I personally cannot wait to take this thing back for a refund.

Terrible QC - unfit for fine instruments.

By Darren

from Tucson, AZ

Comments about Proline PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

Terrible QC - unfit for fine instruments. Nice idea, poor execution. Welds are sloppy, screw holes mis-aligned and does not sit flat - think wobbly restaurant table. Imagine how I felt when I first placed my new axe on it and it almost fell over! Spend a few more dollars on a quality piece of equipment that you can trust to hold your valuable investments... returned immediately.

Purchased this for my son's ever growing guitar collection. It takes up little room but displays his instruments nicely and it protects my investment. We couldn't be more pleased.

Ok but dissapointed

By Lindy

from South Paris, Maine

Comments about Proline PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

I had all the pieces, assembled easily but was not straight but that was easy to fix. Would not hold 3 acoustic, but does alright with 2. Padding is very cheap and has depressions after only a week of use. Not sure how long it will hold up but good for now. Would not purchase another one though, was not impressed with the quality.

Comments about Proline PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

It was very hard to put together. Most of the holes were not allied properly. Being that, it is a bit rickety. The guitars fit fine, its just not that sturdy.

Comments about Proline PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

Poor build quality: mis-aligned holes, non-90 degree angles, wobbles, poor quality fixtures (hex screw caps strip too easily, nut caps break off easily).

Ehh... I wouldn't but he did...

By Nick Mattiello

from Miami Florida

Comments about Proline PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

My friend bought this and well I was like "Finally we won't have to put them against the wall!" However when I got to his house for the usual weekend practice the stand was having extreme trouble holding his Jackson... My Fender Strat fit alright, but our Mahar bass stuck out over the top and we couldn't put it in a corner we had to keep it away from the walls. If you have normal "Stratocaster"ish electric solid body guitars, then buy this. Acoustics can fit... 2 of them though not 3. Our friend A.J. could somehow cram his Gibson Explorer there but I doubt you'll figure out how...

Avoid

By KvX

Comments about Proline PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

As was previously noted, this rack takes up a lot of floor space wherever you put it. My main beef with it though is that padding is of poor quality and permanently compressed within a few months. I imagine this padding problem exists on all racks in this series. Ditching this and going to wall hangers.

Good purchase, maybe I got lucky?

By David Dagostino

from Plantsville, CT

Comments about Proline PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

I've been reading all the negative reviews and for the price I didn't think it was worth it but once it went on sale for President's Day I immediately jumped on it. I double checked with the GC employee that I could return it if it wasn't up to snuff for me. I'm happy to say it is. In response to some negative reviews: I wasn't missing any pieces, I didn't need to drill any holes, and mine only sits about 5" from the wall fully loaded. I think some of the assembly problems are user error. While putting it together I kept checking if it'd sit flat and didn't tightened everything fully until it was all together. While assembling the stand it'll look like it's going to be warped but once complete it's not. Mine sits fine and doesn't rock. I recommend using a real wrench to assemble, preferably a socket, makes it much easier. I was pleasantly surprised how little space it takes up. Solid, but not super sturdy, about what one can expect from a folding model with no bracing. My only real complaint is my guitars sit a little uncomfortably close to each other for my taste. I have a LP standard, Ibanez RG, and full size Yamaha dreadnought cutaway acoustic sitting in this, and there's about 2" of space between each at the bridge. Also, if the acoustic, which is on the end, isn't sitting perfectly it can slightly touch the side of the stand so I'm going to add a thin piece of foam to it just in case and also rubber grip feet to prevent any sliding since I'm on a hardwood floor. All in all it's worth the sale price and I'm happy with the purchase, just have to be a little careful when placing and removing the guitars from it. Maybe they'll redesign it one day and make it a few inches wider.

Low quality, high price

By Michael

Comments about Proline PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

I just put this together and I am about to take it apart and put it right back in the box. Very cheap workmanship and quality. If it was $20 instead of $50 I would probably be satisfied, but for that amount of money I expected a much better quality product.

Comments about Proline PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

It's all good except for the lack of separation of guitar bodies. One must be super careful not to do unintentional harm. I solved it with two pieces of 3/4" PVC, pipe insulation and long zip ties. Now it's a good guitar stand. Keeps them or me from banging into a parked guitar.

    An Adequate Stand

Comments about Proline PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

An OK stand. Hold 3 guitars (electrics) but be careful how you place them and don't bump them because they will impact one another. Assembly was easy, quality is adequate and price is, well, a bit rich for what you get. I knew what I was getting and did it anyway. I'm not displeased but the ease with which they can bump each other requires added diligence if you want to maintain your investment.

I bought this stand thinking it would be great, It looked awesome on display. When I got home and opened the box, I was disappointed, the instructions are vague at best. After taking 30-60 minutes to assemble the stand I placed a bass on it to see if it would at least hold one. Because I am a bass player I wanted a stand that would hold the three current basses I have. The stand did not hold, it started to collapsed in on itself I had to grab my bass before it hit the ground... Please if you consider buying this stand.... reconsider.

I bought the stand and have used for about 2 months.. I carry it between my house and our practice location each week. I use it to hold two of my electric guitars. I made sure to tighten all the screws well when I assembled it and it is stable enough to safely hold my guitars.

          from Austin TX

Comments about Proline PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

Contrary to the other reviews of this product i like it, it doesnt take up as much space as everyone says and you cant really compare it to wall hangers because this is made for stage use mainly which is what i use it for. It holds my 2 Les Pauls and Luna Acoustic perfectly. I can put it against the wall out of the way during a show and have easy access to all my guitars and not have to worry about knocking them over. Great Product!

Comments about Proline PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

I purchased it because a friend of mine has one and it looked alright to me, so I unpacked it and start assembling it... the parts look perfect but once you start putting them all together you start notice something is not right, thought I was doing something wrong but the screws do not screw all the way down and the final view is that this thing is uneven, believe me is not my floor what is uneven... so long story short, poor quality BUT it does hold 3 instruments.

Star far away from this one

          By Ryan Goode

          from Fort Myers, FL

Comments about Proline PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

This has probably been one of THE WORST purchases that I've made at guitar center. Several of the screws did not line up right with their holes for one. Another factor is that it will NOT stay upright on it's own. Unless you have guitars leaning up against it the rack will come falling right back down. The engineering on it is all wrong because in order for it to stay upright the screws holding the two sections together MUST be tight. However, this will not allow it to fold down so they must be torqed down loosely but this also means that the rack not only will fall down but the bolts will evetually fall out.

          Junk.

          By BRYAN CARROLL

          from Oklahoma City, OK

Comments about Proline PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

Poor design and manufacturing. Let's start with the manufacturing. This stand was supposedly inspected according to the sticker on it; obviously not well. The welded tabs were not straight. The drill holes were not straight either. Also, one of the screws in the base would not tighten. The upright part of the stand is held up by two screws, one on each side. I would not trust this design to hold my instruments. I did not bother even finishing the construction. It was so obviously junk. I will take this back for a refund.
