best sounding distortion I've found

this pedal has a great sound to it at any level of distortion and is very versitle. you can easily dial in tones of a great punchy sounding guitar like david gilmours on animals or get a deep, rich distortion. no complaints in the sound department does exactly what I want. I did however encounter some wiring problems with the battery compartment but it was easily fixed. I highly recommend this distortion pedal over any other because of it's versitility and amazing sound

Solid distortion - Best at high volume

This was my very first distortion pedal and I still keep it around. You can get some pretty smooth distortion out of 12 o'clock distortion and 12 o'clock volume with the filter at a little below 9 o'clock. The Pro Co Rat2 provides some really harsh distortion if you set it at 3 o'clock or higher but you need to have your amp at at least 6 to really get it goint well. The filter can be used to get some bluesy tone at lower distortion. The thing is build out of some kind of bomber grade sheet metal so it outlasted a few guitars. It can be chained into an effects loop at lowered setting to really punch up your distortion.

Built like a Tank

This is a really good distortion pedal. It's sounds really good and the pedal is built like a tank. I've owned it for years and have used it a couple of differents ways. I used to use it for the distortion but now I've been using it in my effects loop to lower the volume of my playing. My only gripe is the price. I think it's a little much.

Definatly worth the $$$

I got this pedal a little over a week ago and it is awesome. my buddy from relient k uses it and loves it. The only thing on the down side is it takes a certian type of power hook-up. This pedal is great for a omix of overdrive and distortian. it is a great value for the $$$$. I love this pedal and will have it for a long time.

Nice pedal

Pro Co RAT2 Distortion Pedal. I use it with a fender combo and it has nice tight compressed low end. I really enjoy this pedal and would recomend it to anybody who doesn't care that its not true bypass and wants rock n roll distortion.
