  • Great Sanre Drum at a Great Price

As reviewed by Joshua George on 12/30/2011

I bought it at my local guitar center when it was on sale. I'm thoroughly satisfied with the sound i'm getting out of this baby. I put on remo ambassador and remo ambassador snare side heads on this drum, and it sound so fat! I like my snare tuned lower than most, and even though it was tuned low, it had a lot of body and crack. It sounds best when hit very loud! I cant say i would recommend this to someone who is playing a softer/slower genre of music (for slower genres, i would recommend a wood snare drum). also, this drum can have a lot of ring (because its a brass shell) but if you tune it properly (preferably using a Drum Dial if you're new to drum tuning)and put on some moon gel or duct tape this drum will sound awesome for playing rock/pop/hip hop/metal. I was a little apprehensive about buying this snare drum at first, because of its "unique" dimensions (13x7), but this snare drum has made a total difference in my overall sound. If you're in the market for a new snare drum, this is the drum for you! and besides, if you REALLY don't like it, you can always return it. don't pass this snare drum by!

  • Great tuning range, great sound, great price!

As reviewed by GARRISON TURNER on 11/14/2011

Quick and dirty: Terrific 13" brass snare with excellent tuning range and sensitivity (particularly great high end crack) that projects wonderfully with EXCELLENT Pork Pie build quality that HOLDS it's tuning for ages. For me it has the perfect balance of high end and body, since it's 13" (better for higher tuning) but 7" deep. And brass always lends itself to greater attack. For this price? Get it. No-Brainer.

  • Heavy Hitters

As reviewed by mikeinruins on 10/30/2008

This has to be the loudest, most durable snare drum I have ever played. The rim shots in this snare drum literally scare kids at shows. And I also noticed I DO NOT have to tune this drum after every show. The finish is just amazing. It caught my attention before I even tried it out.
