I bought this mixer simply to run a stage monitor in and in-ears out, and based on some of the reviews this was a good product to do that. I liked that it was small and easily portable and even battery operated, except the thing never worked at all. The first 9v battery I put in heated up before I ever turned the thing on, almost to the point where I could not touch it. The second battery did the same thing. I don't know if that fried the mixer or if the mixer was shorted out in manufacturing and it was frying the batteries. Once I got to practice and put in a 3rd battery (which miraculously didn't burn up) I got no signal out of anything. All 3 batteries were new. The power light came on as well. Also, what I got in the box was nothing like what is pictured above. The power switch was integrated with the master volume and the battery insert was on the bottom (and a real pain to get open). I think I'll just spend a little bit more for something that I know will work properly and not have the potential to set my house on fire with hot batteries.
My church has had this little mixer for around 2 or 3 years so far. It has worked great the whole time. We use it to add more channels to our main mixer or it is used for a headphone monitor for our drummer. The other, I use to practice stuff on my bass in quite. I plug headphones into output, My bass and other items such as CD and MP3 players or guitars go into the inputs. It took some creative thinking to get cables from an MP3 to 1/4" but it sounds pretty good.
It is loud enough to get heard in the headphones but it does not have a lot of gain. I tend to use a compression pedal on my bass and it boosts it to a level that I can control better. CD and MP3 players are fine in it.
I do notice a substancial hum when using it with 9v batteries. I use a power adaptor instead and it has absolutely no buzz at all.
