  • NO better cable

As reviewed by Carlos Lopez on 5/18/2010

Since two years that we've bought these mic cables, we haven't been disappointed yet. We will not settle for another cable, we always ask for Mogami. the reason is that we have a church setting that is very rough, and plus, our equipment is not stable because we pick up every night after every service. We have 4 services every week, and for two years, these cables have held up to the standards. I would recommend this brand over ANY brand. I've had Monsters cables, live wire, Horizon and they've all let me down; eventually they stop working or make detestable sound during performance. I've set my mind and I'm not moving, I would recommend others to do the same!

  • I always thought high end cables were a scam

As reviewed by Michael R on 7/12/2011

I was having trouble with my home vocal recording. I'd just bought a compressor mic and was disappointed that I had some distortion recording vocals during high volume sections. There was no clipping detected with my preamp or software. I took extra care to make sure my levels were acceptable. So I packed up the mic and headed back to guitar center (in Independence Missouri) to exchange it for another one, thinking this was surely the point of failure in my chain. When the tech asked me what kind of cable I was using, I replied that it was a cheap ~20 foot long xlr cable. He was sure that the cable was the point of failure and convinced me to buy a 15' Mogami since I could just take it back if it didn't fix my problem. 6' wasn't quite long enough for what I needed in my home studio - it's too bad there's no 10' option. Anyway, I hooked up the Mogami, which was exactly the same length as my old cable and now my recordings don't sound distorted any more. I'm used to the world of home theater cables, where you can go to mono-price and get a $5 HDMI cable with nearly identical performance to a $200 monster cable. Sensitive compressor mics are a whole different story, though. I'm not going to rush out and replace all my cables, but for this critical connection, from my sterling audio st55 condenser microphone to my m-audio delta omni breakout box, the Mogami was well worth the money.

  • No Snap Crackle or Pop

As reviewed by Larry D. on 4/30/2011

This Mogami Cable, simply put is the best of the best very reliable time after time after time. When I purchased it I purchased it with the specific intent of being used as an instrument cable although it was billed as a mic cable this cable performs flawlessly in any application no feedback no cracking popping or hissing. I cranked it up to an Acoustic AG60 to the max and there was no interference at all. That persuaded me to go out and by another one for my smaller Acoustic AG15 practice amp once again simply flawless performance. You can sit arouind all day contemplating about the cost or you can go get it and start playing.
