A traditonal ukulele from a premier builder crafted of solid Hawaiian Koa.

Martin has built the world's finest ukuleles since 1916, and tenor ukes since 1929 that have long been prized for their full-bodied voice and great volume. The C1K concert-sized model features top, back and sides crafted of solid Hawaiian koa, a wood native to Hawaii and a favorite of island players. Entire body is finished in high quality satin lacquer, and features an applied dovetail neck joint. The C1K Uke is a beautiful example of why Martin is still the name in superior quality ukuleles.

  • Beauty with a few problems

As reviewed by ALICE C on 6/8/2014

I would give 5 stars because this ukulele is beautiful and has a wonderful sound. However, I had to return the first C1k due to bad intonation, very high string setup and poorly finished frets. To guitar Center's credit, they immediately ordered a different one. Unfortunately, the second one although even more beautiful than the first, also had bad intonation. The frets were much better. Overall the finish is good and it has a very sweet sound. Since GC gives you 30 days to return, I decided to take it to 2 different local luthiers to see if the intonation could be improved without too much expense. I was advised by both to just return it. However, Since I loved the sound and beautiful wood, I decided to have the intonation fixed. The bridge was set in the wrong place and was fixed by creating a new custom bridge to adjust the position of the strings. The total cost was $100.00 which included new stings and filing the frets. This ukulele is now perfect. I originally bought it from GC, at a discounted price so even with the additional cost of fixing the intonation, this ukulele sounds and looks beautiful and is worth the cost. I would advise to buy, but check it and have the price adjusted accordingly.

  • Couldn't be happier!

As reviewed by Timothy Clark on 11/4/2013

I received my C1K in the mail, and I couldn't be happier with it! I love the way it looks, the tone is superb, the craftsmanship is excellent, and it is very playable! I would most certainly recommend this Ukulele to anyone looking for good quality at a reasonable price! 5 stars for tone. 5 stars for craftsmanship. 5 stars for playability.
