  • Best Compression I Have used......

As reviewed by Mark on 8/24/2009

I finally got tired of the Boss C/Hiss-3 and just got rid of it. The compressor is a necessary part of a good sound. Enter the MXR SuperComp. Well worth the money and you would be well served to put one in your chain.

  • MXR Supercomp

As reviewed by D.G. Bailey on 7/8/2009

I bought this pedal because I saw Jeff Hanneman from Slayer was using it. I have a Steve Vai 7-string Universe and a Mesa Boogie Roadking II combo. I still haven't found a pedal that makes my distortion sound better for rhythm, but when I play lead I kick this pedal on and I can finally get the sound I want. It provides more sustain and it evens the attack of the notes out. If you're going to use it for rhythm turn the settings most of the way up and turn your noise gate up a little higher too. For lead, switch to your neck pickup and turn the settings down to half. It really has changed the way I approach the sound for lead guitar. I love this pedal.

  • Simple, easy and sounds great

As reviewed by Big Daddy D on 1/19/2009

This is a simple, easy to use pedal that does a great job without killing your tone. The addition of the 'attack level'is really useful. It allows you to adjust where the compression kicks in, so that you can still have some dynamics, and you can move away from that Nashville popping twang that the DynaComp produces at higher compression levels. It works with all my other pedals and does not color the sound. You can get sustainus infinitum too. So, if you want a pedal compressor, look no further. If you're looking at the DynaComp, pay the few extra bucks. Be aware that MXR stuff generally does not come with an AC adapter, so you may have to order one separately.
