Great mics, great price

I bought these mics as my first condensers. They are inexpsensive and they sound great. The 990 works great for vocals, acoustic guitars and as a room mic. The 991 is a highly sensitive mic and works well for recording ambience or the fret board of an acoustic. Using these two mics together produce a great atmospheric sound. These are the first mics I've purchased for recording and I'm pleased with them. If you're an amateur at recording or not looking to spend alot of money these mics are for you.

WOW

Even if you don't need them now you should grab this deal up before the folks at MXL raise the price!!These things work like mad and if you break one you won't cry too hard. Vocally sweet, acoustic intruments sweet, electric guitar sweet!! Just plug and play and be wowed by the fact that you just bought 2 condenser mics for a hundred bucks.

GREAT MICS!!

At first, I was hearing bad reviews about theses mics. When I went to Guitar Center, I saw them for a good price and at that time, I needed a good mic for Vocals and overheads but I was limited on money. I bought this expecting a average mic, and turns out it is GREAT! I always use these mics for Acoustic guitar, and the 991 for overheads. I recomend these mics for the recording musican short on cash!

Great Product

This combo is awesome. The 991 pencil mic works perfect for acoustic guitar or bright sounds and does not capture much reverb off of walls (big plus). The 990 is awesome for vocal or amp micing. I am very pleased with the quality of the products. No on/off switch but thats easy to work around.

Purchase this package

How could you go wrong with this? Low price, realistic sound, great for any level of recording. They both have smooth/soft highs, and represent the natural acoustic sounds of vocals, and all acoustic instruments.I run them both through tube mic pre-amps,and the sound is perfect. If you are a good producer, these mics can sound like any high-end neuman or others in comparison.
