I wanted to begin playing bass, so I began messing around with bass guitars at GC in my price range to see which ones I felt comfortable with. Anyway, I started talking to one of the salesmen and he recommended this book. So I went home and started reading some of the reviews and decided to buy it. Some of the reviews state that the author wrote this book for guitar and just revised it for bass, which happens to be true as the author states himself in the book. All in all this seems like a very well written book and I feel it will be a great asset while learning to play bass. MJS also has these same lessons in DVD format which I may buy to compliment the book lessons.
