This is my first Uke. The strings are very high off of the frets, but it isn't too bad because there is a lot of play with the plastic strings. Change your strings as soon as you get this to Aguila Soprano High G. I haven't done this yet, but I was advised to do so by a pretty awesome Uke player. I have tuned mine like a million times already today, but was told this would be normal for the first few weeks. Mine is turning my hands blue mainly where I have had it around the neck (I obviously bought a blue one). Over all, it isn't a bad Uke for 23 bucks. I'm sure it'll sound much better when I get better quality strings. Also, I recommend the pro coverage. If anything happens in the next 2 years you get a free Uke.

I bought this as a gift for a friends child. construction seems "OK" (what should I expect for $39?) but the finish on the fingerboard was flaked off when it arrived and it was strung improperly with a pretty high action.

I bought this uke for my two year old. He always wants to play with mine and I decided to get him his own. Not only does he love it, but I love it. I have a concert size uke and I play it regularly, but he emulates me. He is on the road to be the next best uke player. Worth every penny I spent. For younger players I suggest the warranty. By the time it runs out, he will be 3. Great investment for the old and new players.
