The Holy Grail of Tube Screamers.

It's back — the incomparable overdrive pedal that vintage gear hounds are always seeking. The Ibanez TS808 Vintage Tube Screamer Reissue has the same famous square footswitch and the warm tones of the JRC4558 chip used in most of the original TS808s. Ignore look-alikes. If your tone is suffering from a lack of real warmth, the TS808 is the real, nongeneric prescription.

It's like you walked into a music store in the '70s and bought an original unit, but without the bellbottoms and big hair. Order your Ibanez TS808 today.

Mmmmm...

If this pedal were food, it would be a big fat hunk of beef with mushrooms and onions on it. Where as not everyone would like to eat that, what I'm getting at is that this is one awesome box. The overdrive sounds exactly like the real thing. The tone can go from clean chords with an attitude to a howling, fuzzy monster. The gain on this pedal might not rival that of, say, a "Metal Zone" pedal, but it's perfect for my style of playing. Whereas David Gilmour used a Fuzz Face pedal, or a Big Muff, this is just as good, if not better. A wise man once said that everyone needs one "fall back" distortion pedal in their collection. Unless you're partial to multi effects units, buy it. I'm sure and serious player can pony up for a pedal that should last a lifetime.

A thing of beauty

Keep in mind, the Ibanez TS-808 reissue Tubescreamer is meant for a TUBE amp, NOT a solid state. This OD is a legend; it has been used by guitarists such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Mike McCready, and many others. It is THE pedal for overdrive. Features: This pedal has three knobs: overdrive; tone; level. The OD knob adjusts the overdrive, how broken up the signal gets. The tone knob adjusts the amount of treble, and the level knob adjusts the intensity of said knobs. Plenty of versatility here. Tone: Beautiful. Instant Pearl Jam/SRV/classic rock. It not only produces great overdriven, crunchy rock, it also gives you a great boost for leads, accentuating the note, and it is an excellent pedal for metal, put in front of an already overdriven tube amp. Finally, it even makes a good distortion pedal for solid state amps. Ease of use: Easy. Just adjust to your liking.

OK OD

This reissue is a decent Overdrive. My biggest complaint is that is adds lots of mids, which can result in a sort of 'nasally' tone. It can't really be dialed out through the tone knob either. There are some good mods out there to fix that though.. Even though the specs of this one are close to those of the original, it falls short. (Hence the still rediculous prices on the originals.) A decent pedal out of the box.

A green monster.

Basically, this effecter does not have a big tone range. However, it gives you all emotion you need to express. I have an Ibanez TS9, but I like this more than TS9 because it has warmer tone, makes it more vintage. It can also be used for a solo booster; it boosts up your tone, and makes your performance outstanding!

Creamy,Buttery, Heavenly... !

I gave it a 5 for value, because for what it does, you won't find another pedal for this price. I play 50's Rock n' Roll so I don't want distortion. I want classic overdrive, just to jump over the rhythm section as I solo. As soon as I plugged this thing in at the store, 4 seconds was all I needed. I bought it. Enough said. If you are looking for rich, thick, creamy, beautiful overdrive, this is the pedal for you. The tone shaping this thing can provide is astounding, it hugs the notes !
