Had mine for a year

I bought this guitar a little over a year ago when i decided to start playing again. At first, I really loved it. The sound was pretty good, though there was a little string buzz on the Low E. After a couple of weeks of playing it (the strings were well broken in by then) i noticed it wouldn't stay in tune. Solved that problem by adding a third spring. The tremolo is pretty much useless on this model (or maybe i just got a bad one) unless you enjoy re-tuning your guitar. The pickups are average quality, though i do like the HB SC HB setup (hard to find at this price) so i recommend upgrading those. The biggest problem i had with this guitar was the wiring. I'm currently experiencing my third short, this time in the volume knob. Good Beginner guitar for the price, looks great, wide neck for those with Chubby fingers! With a few small improvements (tighter springs, thicker wiring, better p/u's and ditch or improve the tremolo) this could be a great guitar!

Great for any guitarist

The Ibanez GRG170DX Is a guitar that can be used for just about any type of music from heavy metal to blues. I have been playing mine for a full year now and it is everything I have ever looked for in a guitar. The look of this guitar is phenomenal. the Sharktooth inlays, glossy paint, and chrome hardware make this guitar stand out from the others. The sound of this guitar is amazing and you can not beat the price. My suggestion is that if you are looking for a great affordable guitar this is the guitar for you.

I'm impressed

i already own a epiphone les paul ultra and it's a very googd one, but i was looking fpr someone with three pickups, some squier cause my limit was 250 but when i tried the guitars for hours the last one was the ibanez cause i didn't like how looks, but the quality the finish of the frets everything make this one the best the sound is very good much better than squiers, the playability the neck and the work in the frets is the best better than my $500 dolars epiphone i'm really impressed so i bought this one! i recommend this one!

One mean Axe

I found the perfect guitar. It had been years since I had an electric, but when I saw this beauty, I knew I needed her. With her duel humbuckers and her single coil, she rocks like a hurricane! The tremelo is sensitive and limited, but with a little patience and you can get her going good. Overall this is a butt-stompin' battle axe.

great guitar

i have played this guitar, and may end up owning it very soon. i love the very low action, but it does buzz alot. the H-S-H setup is great and come on, the guitar is beautiful. the guitar sounds just as good as it looks and is well worth the money.
