Sounds like semi-hollow rock, feels and plays like a stadium axe.

The semi-hollow Ibanez AM73B Electric Guitar is perfect for smaller players, hyperactive stage performers, or anyone else who wants the traditional semi-acoustic elements but not the traditional size.
The AM body shape is an original early '80s Ibanez design that incorporates the classic semi-acoustic shape in a more compact and comfortable body size.

You get the full tones, strong sustain, and light weight of a semi-acoustic and the comfortable size and standout rock shape normally associated with a solid-body all in one guitar. Double-cutaway for easy access to upper frets.

Check the drop-down menu to the right to select colors and/or other options.

  • Tone is worth the $

As reviewed by GuitarLover on 9/10/2010

I already own 14 instruments (various bass and guitars) but no semi-hollow and always wanted to take the pludge but never really was that thrilled with others I tried for the price...until now. Ibanez has a winner here and the tones really are sweet. This is the only thing I have been playing lately. I'm a little used to a smaller neck but it brings a lot of character and upper frets are easy to access. The size is very comfortable and can play for hours without the heavy strain (I have minor arthritis and have no issues). For semi-hollows it's all about the tone ..and this is worth every penny. Only complaint is I wish there were a few color styles to choose from. Black is cool but kinda dull. Although I suspect the $ would go up with it the style options so it's not a big deal.

  • You get what you give...

As reviewed by Jake Beck on 11/23/2011

This is a guitar that asks for little and gives little in return. It simply will not stay in tune and the input jack loosens and if you do not retighten it constantly, the nut will fall off. If you get within a foot or so of your amp or are using heavy distortion you will get feedback. With that said, when it is in tune it sounds great and I love it. If you are willing to buy this guitar and some new tuning machines, go for it. However, if you wanted to buy this guitar and have it be everything you wanted right off the bat, I'm sorry but I think you should look into other brands.

  • Love this guitar

As reviewed by chris fernandez on 10/31/2011

I wasn't planning on buying a new guitar when I walked in to guitar center recently, but a used artcore grabbed my attention. I played it and really enjoyed it but it was a bit expensive compared to the new ones. So I picked this one up ( tobacco finish) and immediately fell in love. played like butter and the tones were so sweet and the sustain was incredible. The finish was very nice, and while it wasn't the prettiest guitar, it had a charm to it. I played some epiphones and some other model artcores, but this one felt the best in my hands and the neck wasn't too thick ( I own a strat and a tele, I'm not used to very thick necks) The guy helping me out told me i could put some chrome pickup covers on and i could buy them at the accessories department. They were about 11 dollars i think, and they make a world of difference. If you're looking for an affordable semi hollow body, this is the way to go. you won't be disappointed at this price point.
