Perfect fumble-free mixes.

From the company that first brought you a dual mixing deck featuring built-in audio for PC, comes the DJ Console Rmx, a versatile, digital audio controller designed for advanced and professional DJs. With its easily portable format it enables mobile DJs as well as club and studio DJs to mix digital music using its USB port to connect to your laptop. The control layout is spacious enough to allow you to mix with no fear of bumping the wrong buttons or accidentally readjusting preset knobs, yet its compact, laptop size makes it easily mobile. For live mixing and seamless integration with the DJ's professional environment, the DJ Console Rmx features a solid metal casing and non-slip pads guaranteeing perfect stability. Adding to its stability, the device boasts flawless drivers designed by Hercules' Canadian R&D division which boasts expertise acquired by a team with more than 20 years of experience in computer-assisted audio processing.

The Hercules DJ Console Rmx controller ensures precision and speed in all your moves, thanks to 2 ultra-precise jog wheels for moving within tracks and for scratching, 12 rotary switches, 46 push-buttons, 6 faders - including pitch faders with a center detent - plus an innovative and convenient general volume fader. The roomy layout of the controls allows DJs to perfect fumble-free mixes. DJs will find their marks quickly, allowing them to focus their full attention and ability to the music and the dance floor.

As an expert in the design of audio interfaces, Hercules determined that the integration of an audio interface featuring 4 inputs and 4 outputs on the Hercules DJ Console Rmx was both obvious and essential. The interface grants access to unique features such as 4 audio outputs offering maximum sound over 4 mono 1/4" inch jack outputs which output +4dBu for PA equipment, audio output levels at -10dBv over 4 RCA outputs for connecting consumer devices (hi-fi systems, recording devices etc.), and simple integration to your other equipment by means of 2 stereo analog inputs enabling you to mix, via the included DJ software, external sources with digital music. The mixing console also features a phono/line-level selector on each input, ideal for connecting turntables, CD or MP3 players, and rhythm boxes. Microphone (with talk-over feature) and headset (for preview feature) connectors are accessible on the Rmx's upper face and front face, enabling DJs to use the console with inimitable convenience, whether in a flight case, on a DJ stand, or on a tabletop.

As mentioned above, the DJ Console Rmx Controller comes with DJ software, VirtualDJ 5 DJC Edition that works with both PCs and Macs. VirtualDJ 5 DJC Edition instantly connects to the console and includes features and settings specific to the Hercules DJ Console Rmx, combining the power of the VirtualDJ mixing engine with the ergonomics of the console. The Hercules DJ Console Rmx is also a MIDI controller and therefore compatible with other MIDI-controlled software applications.

  • so good i got 2!

As reviewed by Kenny on 2/23/2011

I got into the DJ game in late 2009 and bought the Hercules RMX. I live in California now but i'm originally from Pennsylvania and traveled home for the holidays in 2009 and took the RMX with me. Decided to leave it in Pennsylvania because i wasn't to sure how serious i was going to get with DJ'ing but after being back in California for 2 weeks i had to have it again.. so i went out and bought another the next day because i didn't feel like waiting for the first one to be shipped!! Anyhow, the RMX and VirtualDJ have worked flawlessy for me ever since. Yea, the version of VDJ that comes with the RMX is crap and you'll have to upgrade. Once you upgrade though, you can map the RMX to do anything you want. I'm talking anything. For example: with VDJ 7.0 you can now run 4 decks. I did a little research on the web and mapped my RMX to run 4 decks, which almost makes hercules' new 4-MX obsolete. I also have it mapped to control effects parameters for all 4 decks individually. All from a midi controller that was meant to only use 2 decks. The possibilities are endless. You just have to put the time in and do a little research. The one and ONLY problem I had with VDJ is that it crashed on me about 2.5 hours into a gig about 2 months ago. That was the ONLY time this has ever happened to me and I've played more than 6+ hours straight once with VDJ and the RMX. I recently just bought traktor pro and have left VDJ for good, but if anybody is seriously looking into DJ'ing, BUY THIS!

  • Good Controller for the money if you're going digital

As reviewed by DJ Lithaly on 6/3/2011

I decided to give up my traditional decks (Denon DNS-5000's) and use a digital controller. I must say, for the money, you can't beat it. The adjustable jog wheels are a nice touch. I would like to be clear about one thing, it's a cheaper unit so don't expect it to do everything and the precision isn't as accurate as a "real" deck in my opinion. It has good functionality and enough mixing options for the beginner or pro although not every button has a light so I would recommend having a light in low light conditions. I did run into a few minor issues. When using this unit with Virtual DJ pro, I noticed that the volume setting on the gain control on the software would "automagically" change once in awhile causing me to have to adjust it back. Also, the manual pitch doesn't work all that well (I don't use the sync button - that's cheating!). If you attempt to make a small pitch change, the controller/software doesn't recognize it unless you first go up or down significantly and then set your pitch, same thing with the high, mid and low adjustments but these are all VERY minor issues I personally experienced but overall very satisfied with the product. Very solid construction and even comes with it's own laptop sized carrying case with strap so it makes transporting the unit easy. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get a good controller for low cost.

  • Simple and flexible

As reviewed by DJ Marx on 4/4/2011

I replaced my Hercules MP3 e2 (A very good little controller) with the RMX because the RMX has a built in soundcard. I've already had my first gig with it and I have to say that so far I've been impressed with the ease of use and with the quality of the sound. It also freed up enough resources from my computer so that I can now play video without pushing it to the max. My only hung up was the headphone jack sound. Not very goo at all. But I run this unit through a secondary mixer anyhow so no biggie for me. My favorite feature so far has been the programmable buttons. I have them setup for hot cue, loop in/out and fx. They offer tremendous flexibility. Since I am using a second mixer, I have also programmed the crossfader to be used only for video. I purchased the product used at a big discount, but I feel that, even at new price. This product is a great choice for laptop djs. You can't really scratch with the thing cause there is a bit of a pause when you release the wheel. It does a fantastic job mixing and there is no delay on any of the other features.
