Great for the price

We had a preowned B52 Matrix 1000 blow a channel during our worship service, so I brought it back to GC for an exchange. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of pre-owned B52 Matrix systems sitting in stock. The guys at GC helped us out by choosing speakers that fit our meager budget and this Harbinger Sub really hits. We're filling a 300 person church sanctuary and this sub does fine. We have it connected to Behringer 12inch powered tops rated to 550W each. At first we had to play with the levels of the tops to integrate the sound but once we got it, the sub and the tops work perfect together. We're running a mixer with 10+ singers and a full band and this sub hits and stays tight. All of our members say the B52 was too boomy, but this Harbinger/Behringer combo is so much tighter and punchier that you really feel the music more during our worship. We're all surprised that the amps don't even get hot. The Harbinger is so much more accurate in the bass lines than the B52 and it never sounds muddy. The guys at GC told me that this sub is built by QSC for GC, and if you look at the amp section in the rear the QSC resemblence is there. I was initially going to upgrade to the B52 matrix 2000, but the guys at GC said we could put something together that will slam the B52 and save our church a couple of dollars and they came through. We made the right choice and have no regrets with the Harbinger. Thanks to all the GC guys that helped us out.

3 times the charm?

After reading all the other reviews, I'm thinking maybe I am just unlucky. Where do I start? I ordered this sub online the first time and it arrived at my business with both bottom corners crushed. I send it back because I know these things can happen in shipment. I contacted GC, they received the crushed one and sent out a new replacement. It arrived several days later-crushed also, this time it was the rear bottom corners. The only reason I didn't just drive to GC(15 miles away) was because they were out of stock. So, this time I waited until the GC got their shipment of stock and I went in to inspect the sub before I bought it. It looked flawless, so I bought it! The first time I use it, It activated the red limiter LED a lot and even shut down and recovered a couple of times. I thought maybe I had something hooked up wrong. The next gig, I thoroughly studied the instructions and hooked it up in accordance to them, it did the same thing again. Now, at this point I have went over my 30 day return policy and GC told me(in so many words) "good luck with that". So, I have contacted Harbinger at least 4 times, they are no help at all! They do not even have a contact phone number, only fake email. I am stuck with a big heavy piece of furniture that resembles a sub woofer.

This speaker got blown quick, it can only handle small venues and thats pushing it hard if you playing Hip Hop/ R&B kind of music with beats and heavy basslines. I would never buy this speaker again although i dont even think they make this speaker anymore

I gave this item 3 stars, and there's a few reasons: PROS: - It comes with casters and is really pretty light (97lbs), so it's very easy to move around. - The sub sounded GREAT in the store, and when paired with my Alto 15" mains, it rocks. - It looks pretty nice, solid construction and feel. Doesn't act like it's going to fall apart. - The built-in crossover seems to do a pretty good job. CONS: - Built-in crossover isn't adjustable. Only one volume knob on the back. - Turned the thin on and it smelt of burnt plastic right away. The first power on made a pretty loud pop noise from the woofer. I used it for about 40 minutes to test the levels out and made sure it wasn't clipping, but noticed the telltale crunch of a blown woofer. Initial quality on this unit was poor. Overall, it sounded great in the store, which is why I bought it. I got it home and the thing died on me. I can't give it 1 or 2 stars because I know they can sound good, but I'm really questioning the longevity of the product at this point. It's within 30 days, and I did invest in the extra warranty in case it blows up in a year or two, so I'll get a new one and see what happens.

I purchased two of these subs for my mobile dj rig. Although they are 97 pounds they are still easy for me to get in and out of my truck. The casters are a huge help and make pushing the beauties even on a not so smooth road extremely easy. I ran these for 5 hours straight at full bore with the limit light on all night, they stayed cool and didn't cut out once. Bass was perfectly clean. My only complaint is that at full volume (5 O'Clock) they only register at 0db. QSC and Mackie rate 0db at 12 O'Clock, that just makes balancing the volume tricky but not impossible. Hence the reason they were showing limit all night. Other than that I highly recommend these.

Picked up this bad boy at GC. I was not sure about this no name brand too. I was looking into the JBL or B-52 brand for powered subs. Was trying to stay affordable and not got too out of budget. the crew at GC let me play with it, put it to the test, almost to the point of annoying the other customers. I bought it and it bumps. The only thing about this sub is that, it is powered, but I cannot power my other speakers off the subs channels. Like you would be able to do with the B-52 2000 set up. Warranty set up for any issues, I love this sub, it keeps up with the best out there. NO PROBLEM!
