Excellent Fendery tone....great for blues.

Loved the Original JJ tube that came with my Orange MT20....on a lark decided to pick up a groove tube 12ax7c at the Ocean NJ store. Let me tell you this is the one I'm Keeping, added a definite Fendery Sound to my Orange with Sparkle, and Chime. That with Orange's circuitry....pushing thru My custom 10/12 Cherry Cab Loaded with Eminence's Legend, and Govenor. Perfect Bluesy tones, ala Albert King, and SRV....Yup I'm going to buy a few more...

I recommend staying away from this tube.

Groove Tubes were the only tubes I bought for decades because of their quality control. I recently had to replace both of the GT-12AX7-C tubes in my Backstar because of shorts. These tubes had less than 20 hours on them, and as you know, preamp tubes should last a very long time. I am currently using a NOS Sylvania and (of all things!) a USA made Peavey in place of the GT's while I research other brands. Do yourself a favor and steer away from this tube. You can do better at a lower cost.

I keep an ECC83 in V1 and 12AX7s in the rest of my pre-amp tube sockets for a little more bass in my amplified signal. All of the tubes I use are Groove Tubes, as they provide a standard of quality in sound and performance that is hard to compete with.

A good balance of amplification across the amplified guitar frequency spectrum. Reliable and functional.

Recently bought a used hi-fi tube powered amp. Jolida 202a. Item is in great shape, but the tubes are old. Replaced the preamp tubes with this tube. Improved the sound, both burn at the same intensity and stopped the low-grade hum the amp transmitted when I first used it. And the staff at my local GC are all friendly.
