Whoo man! This baby makes my mullet shine brighter than my Camaro! Since all music went to Hell after Skynard's plane crash and .38 Special moved to just playing casinos, I figgered most guitars stank now too. I was so pleased to find this southern belle at my local Guitar Center. She was such a beaut I done bought her, throwed her in my pick-up truck and took her home and slapped on a Rebel flag sticker and now we're rollin'!

  • Looks and sounds great, but the selector switch?

I'm a fan of everything about this guitar except 1 thing, the location of the pickup selector switch. If you used to the switch being located by the knobs like the SG, or up near the top like the LP this could take a little getting used to. I am frequently switching between pickups during the course of songs and at first this was a real problem for me. Now it's only more of an inconvenience but still I wish it were up top like the LPs. Other than that, this guitar sings through my Marshall 900 just like every other gibson i've played through it. If the tone were not as good as it is, I might have given it 4 stars, but the switch location itself is not enough to take it down one full star. Killer Guitar!

Finally got my Firebird after 2 months on special order, but worth the wait. Finish was flawless, action was perfect however I always need to adjust intonation after putting my set of 10-46 strings on. the rear pickup was installed incorrectly and wobbled a lot but I fixed it quickly and easily. overall awesome sound and versatile. sounds like a Strat in the neck position, Les Paul with both pickups, Les Paul jr. on bridge pickup. This is the only neck-thru guitar Gibson makes and the sustain proves the point. My favorite guitar now after playing over 25 yrs.

First of all let me just say these are hard to find. Next im a very experienced guitarist and have had many guitars and i must say this is by far the best thing that i've ever touched. It plays so smooth has a mind blowing sound both with and without an amp, and is about as rare as a dinosaur. I highly recommend it

What can i say............. everything the other rockers say about this instrument is true. it s a pleasure to play. I bought it a couple of weeks ago not sure if i would like the mini humbuckers but all my doubts have been put to rest. they sound so much different from the p 90's and the humbuckers. if i had to pick one guitar to take to a desert island it would be the bird.
