Gibson

Description

The A-9 Mandolin from Gibson's Original Acoustic Instruments division brings the concept of the most affordable hand-crafted mandolin to Gibson Acoustic's A-style mandolin line.

OAI's scroll-body F-9 model, introduced in January 2002, was not only a commercial success--it also generated numerous requests for a similar model in the A-style line, which features a symmetrical, pear-shaped body.

The A-9 mandolin has a Sitka spruce top and eastern hard maple back, sides and neck; top bound black binding; nickel plated hardware; a Gibson script headstock inlay; and satin vintage brown finish. The hand-fitted dovetail neck joint, hand-tuned tone chamber and micro thin finish assure a rich, powerful sound that is characteristic of higher-end mandolins. The A-body style is comfortable to play and allows easy access up the mandolin's neck.
