Great by itself or with Garageband

I use mine mostly to record tracks, then I bring them into garage band and edit them there. It's a very nice system and the MR8 is easy to use. Buy a 1 gig card to have some room to work with and it's great.

Top of the line Multitracker

I have owned this MR8-MK2 for about 7 months now,and its really a fine peice of equipment. You can really get studio sound quality out of this little guy. Its very user friendly after scimming through the manual a bit. The 8 tracks lets you add on lots of instruments. This has pannig, effects editing, punching in and out , deleting tracks , editing tracks, and it even has a built in distortion effect. I definitely dont regret buying this MR8 and I definitely recommend it to everybody who wants good quality and good sounding recorder.

Its worth the price

I am a hip hop artist/producer and i was just looking for something to record and edit. And i have to say this thing blew me away. The quality is good and the usb connection makes it easy to tranfer to a computer for editing. I would recommend this thing to anyone that wants record right away.

awesome

I am new to owning a recorder but have friends that do it all the time. This was a great price to get me started and once I studied the manual it became very user friendly. I'm really loving this toy (I call everything from guitar center a new toy) and it's helping me understand a lot about recording, etc.. I recommend it for anyone wanting to be up and running fast. Yes you'll need a bigger flash card eventually.

Only 250 dollars for all of that?

The Fostex 8 track recorder is awesome. It looked confusing as heck at first when I saw a picture of it on this site. But I decided to go for it. I bought it, and I am using it for hours everyday. Don't think you can work it? You can. It's so easy, even I can. I learned how to work every knob and button, and THEN I found the instruction manual. And I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed either. It comes with built-in effects, delay, distortion, damn! The two simultaneous track recording made it easier to record. I play guitar, and my buddy Nick plays bass, and we found it easier to record at the same time so it is more precise. Rock On!!!
