Brushed-finish Fender Schaller Locking Tuners provide solid tuning stability by clamping the cut end of the string with a hand-tightened lock screw. There's no play in the string and you tune normally. A great way around locking nut systems that don't allow tuning on the fly. Highest quality manufacture, Schaller Locking Tuners are the same tuners used on Fender American Deluxe Series guitars.
Now I love my Mexican strat. If your Mexican strat dosent stay in tune , buy a set of these.
these tuners where easy to install and make changing strings a breeze i really did not have any problems with my old tuners going out of tune but dont regret replacing them except I wish the would sell more brushed parts like bridges ect they look nice and stay nice...
The first thing I do to any guitar I can is put locking tuners on it, plus locking Schaller strap locks and buttons. These tuners are great for USA and Mexican made Fender with the Standard Tuners. I had these on a Fender Strat, a USA made Texas Fat Special. I retained them when I sold the guitar for my next Fender Strat or Tele down the road. I have two sets ready and waiting I bought several years back! Saves you a lot of time changing strings or one that breaks during a gig. These are great, well made, quality tuners that add tuning stability and a touch of extra sustain. Not only do they fit the Fender American Deluxe Series, they also fit the American Series, older American Standard and the ongoing (Mexican made) Standard series with no drilling, and replacement is a snap since they are basically upgraded standard tuners that lock. All the existing holes are the same. They are different from the Squier imports since the two drilled small pin holes are closer to the main shaft/large hole on the Squier headstocks, so be careful there. You might have to drill two farther out pin holes on those imports to fit these. The two pin holes are in the headstock wood under the main tuner housing and you don't see them until you remove the tuners. But like I say, if it is American or Mexican made with standard vice vintage style tuners, they should fit right in with no problem. You might take your guitar with you to your local GC or other store to check it out (e.g., remove a tuner first). But you can adapt other existing guitars if you wish and are careful in drilling and "handy". I recommend just don't drill any guitars that you figure will have a future vintage value, as that is a detractor for vintage "stock or original condition" collectors. But, if you are a serious player, locking tuners can be a plus on your favorite players. These will work out of the box on a lot of Fenders as I have described above.
