The kit includes all of the parts needed to upgrade your guitar with the Mid Boost Preamp used on the Eric Clapton and Buddy Guy Strats.
this is the second strat that I've had upgraded with his mod boost and if I were to describe it I don't think that upgrade does not do justice to this one. Had this installed by a professional on a Japanese strat from the 80's that already had fender vintage noiseless pick ups. the sound is pure Clapton as if the man himself was doing the playing. The highs, lows and mids are all well defined and when the boost is engaged it is tone heave. I've discovered that if you lower the tone to about 3.5 and raise the boost 3-4 you get this very nice bluesy sound that is between SRV, EC and Hendrix. Get this for your guitar and join me in tone heaven!!!
This is amazing! It goes so good with my fender vintage noiseless pups. It makes the pups so really straty on a clean then when you get a little dirty this makes a nice thick tone. And with the TBX tone control it just adds to the awesomeness.
I have a Clapton Strat that comes stock with this kit. It really makes the guitar heavy sounding and with a tube amp you can do no wrong with this kit. I will say if you run distortion pedals a lot turned up on the gain you will have problem with feed back even when the master volume is down all the way if the mid boost is on it will feed back. This works best in tube amps with master volumes. Set the Gain to your likes on the tube amp and you'll be fine. If your Tube amp doesn't have a Gain knob then turn your master volume up on your amp to as high as you can stand it with the mid boost off. Then turn it on. Its the only way to get that late 80's to now Clapton sound.
