A sound system for many purposes!

For someone that is starting to get into DJing and local sets, I have needed a sound system for some time. The Guitar Center associates, along with my personal knowledge, helped pick the perfect model to suit my needs. Not too much, not too little, but a nice portable system that can both satisfy and electrify. Although the 2nd-best model takes a giant price leap, it packs a nice, clear sound and an easy-to-use mixing console into an innovative carrying design that has been enjoyed and trusted by many for years. It's very easy to set up, and only requires a 120V AC connection for full use. The entire system latched together with the supplied cables weighs a nice amount, but not so heavy that it tires you out after 2 minutes. To summarize, it's a good speaker for a good price. They do have a lower CONFERENCE model and a higher VENUE model.

I bought this to practice karaoke at home but have done a couple gigs DJing parties.. Basically I played tunes and also had karaoke available for those that were in the mood.. One party had a band and I played before, after and in between sets.. The lead guitarist made a comment on how it sounded like live music it was so clear.. I do have a 200 watt powered sub-woofer that I bought to give it a more full sound and more bottom end.. I love this and use it to practice karaoke at home butt it is actually strong enough for an outdoor party.. Make sure your neighbors are friends because its pretty loud... Kent
Does not come with Mic Kit as advertised.

Ad online specifies that a mic kit is included, but it did not come with one and when I called customer service they indicated that it was an error on the website, offered no solution and stated they no longer carry it. When I asked for suggestions of other microphones, he could not tell me specs. It's not the gentleman's fault I spoke with, but really frustrating false advertising here. We have a limited budget and now we have to make an additional purchase.
Sounds great...

I bought this from Guitar Center in Langhorne, PA to practice singing and have a friend play acoustic guitar... I have since DJ'ed 3 parties that I played music and people sung karaoke... Everyone asked about the system and said how good it sounded.... I am doing a larger outdoor party for a friend Labor day weekend and cant wait to rock the joint... I bought a 200 watt sub-woofer from GC to add depth and man it gets the dancers moving with the extra BOOM!.... Thank you Adrianna and staff at GC for letting me get it delivered to the store and for all the help with extra microphones and cables that I needed for the sub-woofer... I love this system and am now hoping more people want me to DJ their parties so I can jam....
The jury is still out as to performance.

This equipment works GREAT when playing my Native American Flute. However when I switch to my acoustic guitar with thin-line pickup, there is a "distinct" popping noise when I play an "open" A-string. I'm going to continue to use the equipment but if the problem persists I may have to return it for "repair." On another note, the service from on-line ordering was atrocious. It took 15 day before I received delivery of the product. The delay caused me to cancel an event I had booked. Although I'm in need of more gear I will NOT be buying it from Guitar Center. Trust me folks, shop elsewhere.

What is meant by the term "sound reinforcement "? In portable PA systems?
You run the risk of losing some power with most portable PA systems. This balances it out, so you won't get as much signal loss when used in larger or more open venues.submitted7 years ago
