Wow, wow, and wow
Do what I did. Find the best Squier P-Bass you can. In ten minutes I unscrewed the pickguard, cut off the old strings, de-soldered the stock Squier pickup and re-soldered the Original P-Bass pickup and put the pick guard back on and restrung MONSTER TONE. I am so impressed. I thought it would be a bit better -- it's a new bass. Such an improvement.

Very disappointed
I ordered this to replace my pickups in my P bass, but when I put it in, the output was way too quiet. My bass also has a bridge pickup, and it was about twice as loud. We tried rewiring it multiple times, but the bridge pickup was still much louder. We concluded that this neck pickup was too quiet. Probably a dud pickup. Will return and try agin

I had been using my classic vibe 70s pbass and been pleased with the sound, and playability with a good set up. I got my tax return and thought 'ya know, upgrading to the real pickups might just make the thing even better. Oh yeah it did! The response frequency is wider, and the pickups have nuance to feel that the squire ones lacked. You might think, well yeah... but really, was a great way to take a bass with good foundations, and elevate it without breaking the bank. Highly recommend it for bassists who want to transition from their entry level instrument to a more expensive model. Especially if the budget is tight, and it will take a while to save for a player or pro model. Comparably, these high level Pbass pickups are a more affordable swap than it is for most high level guitar pickups. It's worth it. the responsiveness will give you the ability to learn touch in your play, and will sound amazing while you wait for the big purchase.

I got this for a dead P-Bass. This with new 250k pots and I was back in business with a really nice booming bass.
Just what I expected. Sounds great on my p bass

Put these on a clone p bass I built. It needed something more than the cheap ones were on it and these filled the bill fine.
Great pickup - the sound you're expecting and better

I had picked up an old Korean made Kramer P-Bass Focus 420s. Took it over to Nick at Guitar Center in Rockford IL for some minor repair, new strings, setup. He did a great job! It felt and played so much better. The tone, though, was not so great. I soon purchased these '62 Fender P-Bass pickups and had Nick install those. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I've played a couple live gigs with this bass since this upgrade and the sound is SO MUCH BETTER! Amazing boom, snarl, tone....incredible! I mightily recommend these Fender P-Bass 62 pickups!!!! Thank you!

Hey stupid question but are these passive or active pickups?
Not at all. They're passive, as a Precision should be.submitted4 years ago

All the reviewers are talking about "tone" which totally subjective. I just want to know is these will provide a clean non distorted signal. Thanks!

Would these be an improvement over my stock Squier Affinity pickups? If so how much of a difference and what differences.
They would be an improvement. A bit warmer perhaps but the biggest difference would be the overall quality of the sound.submitted6 years ago
