Till Death Do Us Part
This Fender guitar begs and begs for you to play it. The neck and the pickups are all on point. Action is especially butter smooth. You'll start exploring frets you never normally touch. You can play blues. You can play metal. I know, I do both. And I was always a humbucker guy before this guitar. I can only imagine what a nicer amp than mine would sound like. I know this is a MIM strat and a lot of people look down their noses at it. But look, every time I pick up this guitar, it puts a smile on my face and I want to play MORE and MORE. And this is coming from someone who isn't even very good anymore after losing touch with the guitar in college. The black on black with cream hardware looks amazing. I feel like this guitar is 30 years older than it is, because it looks that classic. I was NEVER a black guitar guy until I saw this. I prefer'd sea foam greens and sunburts and that kinda thing. Until I met "The One" - this guitar It just feels like something you'd see slung around a guitar god from the 60s shoulder. And that feeling rubs off on you as you play it. If you can't tell by now, I love this guitar. I've owned it for 5 years and haven't bought a single guitar in that meantime. I've owned a vintage 70s guitars, Signature Artist Guitars By Fender like The Tom Delonge, Nothing has captivated me (yet) like this black on black/cream Fender.

sounds a little flat and output jack keeps quiting
This guitar plays great first of all. I absolutely love the action and the neck mine came with. However the middle pickup sounds really flat and the bridge sounds weak no matter what height its at. Neck pickup fine though. Well I've had the guitar for about 3 weeks now and the output jack has died 3 times. And I'm not yanking on the cable or anything. I don't know if I just got a "bad" one but its going back and I doubt I'm getting the same guitar again. It looks really nice though!

I'm no pro, but I like to think I know my stuff. I've owned this piece for nearly a year now -- since holiday 2018 -- and can honestly say I'm totally satisfied with it. Overall the quality is really high, it feels solid and durable, all the parts seem like they're well made and put-together. The maple neck is fantastic, it's very smooth and comfortable. To add to that, the contouring of the body is insane, I have never once had issues with holding it over extended periods of time. Being a Strat the single coil pickups are awesome for clean tones. With a little bit of gain, boost and reverb, the tones you can get are unbelievable. I play with EBSS 9-42 gauge strings, bends feel and sound awesome. Bridge floats well and the trem is fun to play with, if you don't totally abuse it. tl;dr it's a *real* Fender Strat. They do what they're good at and do it well.
And again!

Use it for practice, on worship team and on outreach gigs. It's just real nice and smooth for the price.

I had wanted a strat for some time and had planned to spend extra for American made. But on a visit to Guitar Center, I came across a black preowned MiM special edition and gave it a try. I didn't expect to be swayed from my plan, but was so pleasantly surprised by the tone and playability. In talking to the staff and trying out the American models, I began to see less and less difference other than price. And yes, I know this isn't the investment piece an American made strat would be... but I'm not in it for bragging rights or resale value. The guitar looked great, played beautifully, and probably saved me at least $600. While I would still love a top end Stratocaster, I have no regrets about this purchase.

I bought this strat because the price was right and I wanted a David Gilmore style look and feel without a big price tag. I love strats and have several. Although this is a MIM strat, again Fender has not let me down. Every MIM strat or tele I've ever owned has sounded great. It's a very playable guitar, gorgeous finish, good action from the factory. I play mostly classic rock and blues. For the money, can't be beat.

Can you modify the pickups on this Stratocaster I would like to have the vintage style Seymour Duncan for the neck and fat 50 in the middle and classic 69 for the bridge thanks.
The pickups can be swapped out in this guitar. Unfortunately, this isn't a service we offer.submitted7 years ago
