I picked this up on a whim, and my next trip to GC, I'm going to get the acoustic version for my other guitar. It holds my Strat at home, and when I play out, I fold it up, put it in the top compartment of my Strat's case and it performs the same task away. The only caution is to make sure you set your guitar firmly in the arms, or it could slip, since there is no neck support. But if you watch that, this is an unobtrusive essential.
I really like this design, it folds neatly, stores in its own bag, has protective coatongs to spare your axe's finish, but it doesn't quite fit in my older strat's hard shell case storage compartment. I still keep it in there, so I have a stand wherever I go, but I cannot properly close the storage compartment's lid. You also have to be careful - the back riser only supports the body of the guitar. It is not captive such as those types that also supprt the backside of the neck; but that is what lends to this stand's portability.
This stand is surprisingly sturdy. I just got it a couple days ago, and I'm impressed with how compact it is when folded up. It won't fit into a case, but it would fit in the outer pockets of a gig bag.
