This veteran from the British invasion is back without the vintage price tag! Mod looks and warm, bass tone come together as a result of its hollow laminated maple body with a short-scale 30" maple neck, elegant flamed maple top and dual bass mini-humbucking pickups. Other features include a floating rosewood bridge with trapeze tailpiece, 2 volumes, 1 tone, chrome hardware, and vintage sunburst finish.
I have played bass for 42 years. Like many I was a big Beatle fan. I have always wanted a Hofner but did not like the price. I saw this bass along with the knock off Hofners. After playing the Hofner, I picked up the Epiphone. WOW was I surprised. The sound beat the Hofner hands down. The fit and finish was perfect. The sound was deep and soulfull with good mids. The action was set at the factory and I must say they got it right. Did not have to change a thing. It holds tune very well. I am very happy with this bass. It did take me a bit to get use to the short scale. I would tell you to try this bass, you will love it.
I bought this bass today from the local GC in Spokane, I must say it's a GREAT bass! The tone of this bass is beautiful, it's light weight and smaller than most basses out there. Keep in mind this was created for Rock N' Roll not Metal and Slap bass. I say this bass is worth every penny, so go get one!
I bought this Bass 2 years ago, I use it in church so I wanted something without the horns. I demo'ed this model and fell in love with the tone. It can give a deep throaty bass sound, which I prefer, or other sounds as well. When you pluck the "A" string, it will ring forever, well close to forever. I also picked up an Acoustic B20 practice amp which works well for me. I shopped around and found this viola bass to suit my needs.
