Excellent Sound. Even Compared to Gibson
I went into Guitar Center ready to spend up to $2000 to buy myself a Gibson Les Paul. I setup into a Tube Amp (Marshall I think) and Had they Guy pull out just about every Les Paul in the Store. I went Clean to Distorted, Rhythm Pickup to Lead. Back and Forth. I settled on a couple models and the Epiphone Standard and Custom were both in the Mix with a couple of Gibson also Standard and Custom.
After several back and forth swapping between the 4 models I decided that the Epiphone Sounded just as good as the Gibson. So I bought this Model in Black.
It has been 1 Year that I have owned it now and it is My Favorite Guitar over my $700 Ibanez, over my $1300 ESP, over my $1200 Jackson. I gave the Quality a 4 because I do have to Retune more often than I did on my other guitars, but I am not sure if this is Normal since this is my First Non-Floyd Rose Locking Guitar. Also, I do a lot of Heavy Picking and some Pretty serious String Bending during Leads and I use 10s so I don't know if that contributes. It is not wildly out of tune but during a 6 hour Jam session, I usually end up re-tweaking a string or two but they are only off slightly.
I enjoy this Guitar so Much that I am now thinking of Picking up one of the Epiphone Les Paul Standards in another Color.

Nearly Perfect.
I have been searching for a new guitar for about a year, and as all experienced guitar players know, finding that perfect guitar can be difficult. I found mine. This guitar has a comfortable shape and a beautiful sound. It has that "warm" Les Paul sound to it. It is also a little bit heavy, but you can't beat the price. If you don't keep it safely stored, it tends to go out of tune easily but with proper storage, it stays in tune just fine. I noticed also that the craftsman ship could have been a little better but you could only notice those flaws when you are searching for them. This guitar is great, but the price is even better. I highly recommend purchasing this guitar.

Great Guitar
I just picked this one up in alpine white at my local guitar center for $60 cheaper (thank you The List sale!). The finish is beautiful, gold hardware matches really well with the white. Plugged it into my marshall amp and it sounds wonderful. The humbuckers give it a really good sound. For its price, especially at the sale price i got it at, its a great guitar for a great price. Buy this guitar!!

Beautiful Sound, Beautiful Guitar
Before I bought this guitar, I tried at least 30 other ones 'til I found one that I really loved. The first time I played this, I knew this guitar was the one. The tone is extremely rich, and the average person could not tell that it's an Epiphone and not a Gibson. Also, it's like sex for the eyes. Everytime I look at it, I just have to pick it up and play it. I got it in the Alpine White color, and every person who has looked at it has said something like "holy crap". It works excellently whether you play rhythm and lead, and the you get that deep rich Les Paul tone when you're playing blues, and hard rockin' power when you play rock or that emo/powerpunk crap that's popular today. I would highly suggest getting this guitar, whether you've been playing for 6 months or 30 years.

One of the best Epi's available
I bought this from the Gilroy, California store earlier this year. The associates there were very helpful in picking out the best guitar with the most value for your money. I have had only the best of luck with Epiphones and this one has to be my favorite. The tone is probably the closest to a Gibson that you can get. It is simply amazing for the price. I would, however, reccomend getting the factory strings replaced with something along the Gibson line. Maybe you don't want to, but that's just one of the little things I like to do to improve my guitar. The overall appearance of this guitar (I got mine in Alpine whtie) is beautiful. The headstock is great. I'm also a fan of the inlay this guitar has. So basically, if you are looking for an Epiphone, this one will give you the best value for your money!
