Toyota's Les Paul-Pure Quality
Tis the season to be jamin. This guitar is made for hamin. Rock n Roll, jazz, hard & Classic rock, and country to boot. I saw this secret factory in Japan. I am an International traveler and a lifetime guitarist. This guitar has dramaticly superior tolerences to its counterpart Gibson Les Paul. I can only use the comparison of the Japanese built Toyota to the American built Chevy. Gibson Les Pauls are supurb guitars, however, only 2 out of 10 Gibsons are the quality of this Elitist Model Epi Les Paul. This Epi Les Paul Elitist is a superior instrument to the standard Gibson Les Paul that rolls off the line in Nashville. What happen to the Gibson Les Paul Kalamazoo? I have been playing and performing as a lead guitarist for over 31 years. I am a graduate of GIT in Hollywood, and I have sustained myself my entire adult life with income from songwriting and performing. I know quality instruments. I own 12 guitars, and I play them all. I can truly say to any seasoned guitarist that if I were to blindfold you and have you do the "blind test" between the Epi Elitist Les Paul and the Gibson Les Paul Standard, 9 out of 10 would be very hard pressed to pick the gibson, and 8 out of 10 picked the Epi as the finer guitar in the test I administered. True story, believe it or not. Now, the stock Epi is nice for the price, but it does not compare to a Gibson, but this special edition Epi built in Japan, for less than $1200 bucks is truly a better made instrument than the standard Les Paul standard. If only they made it with the 60's slim line neck. But hey, I had my luthier shave it down to my custom desire. Oh God, this thig is pure melody, sustain, and power. What an instrument. Remember, you are paying over a thousand dollars just for the name "Gibson." And hey, they do deserve it, as I own 4 Gibson Les Pauls and they are all custom modified to my taste, but hey, I am just really lucky that way.
God Bless to all. Keep jamin' and watch your dough.

Ultimate Work Horse LP
What an amazing value! Built in Japan, basically to Gibson specs. Attention to detail and craftsmanship is excellent although on of the inlays on mine was popping up when I got it. It was an easy fix though. The neck is slightly on the chunky side but not bad. I've owned it for 6 months now and the more I play it, the more I like it.
The single largest practical factor that makes it different than a Gibson is the poly finish. Gibson uses nitro. I'll let you decide how much that affects tone. But poly is certainly a durable, work horse finish. And contrary to what people tend to say, the finish is not thick.
Tonally it does everything from Blues to Rock and Classic Rock. It'll do Country depending on your tastes. In my opinion the pickups aren't as well suited for modern high gain stuff but there's nothing stopping you from trying it. But warm, crunchy, sustained tone is a no brainer.
Over all, it's an amazing value. Do your research. Compare it's construction to that of Gibson. If you can live without "Gibson" on your headstock, it may be the most amazing value in a guitar that you'll ever find.

Great Guitar
I got this guitar for christmas as my second guitar. I have been playing for about four years and this is a great guitar to play. The neck is a little fat and can't play as fast as some, but it makes up for it in tone. I use this through a fender cyber amp and you can play almost any style of music because this is a very versatile guitar. I love this guitar because it is the price of a low end gibson, but with much more quality from my experiences. This isnt the best guitar for metal, but you can pull it off, it just doesnt sound as good as if through a guitar for metal. If you want to play classic to modern rock, even country on a les paul of gibson quality for a lot less, this is the guitar for you!

Epiphone Elitist Les Paul standard
My friend has this guitar and I must say it is probably the best I have ever played. The neck is a little wide for my personal taste but its not that big of a deal. It sounds great and really gives out that Les Paul sound. I rated it a 4.5 for value because I feel it is a tad overpriced but not by much. It is still a good value you should take advantage of.

Compared to the Tak Matsumoto Epi Elitist LP
Does anyone know how this baby compares to the Les Paul
Tak Matsumoto signature model? This is a supurb axe, and I want to buy another. I am interested in the Tak Matsumoto Elitist and have not played it. It sounds beautiful, and a bit special. Matsumoto, on the other hand I have heard perform on his Gibson Les Paul one of which the Epi version is modeled after. Nearly the same as the Epiphone Elitist Standard Plus with the quilted maple top instead of the flame. Any comments from an Tak owner? Thanks all,
